PROPOSED ITINERARY FOR JOCKEY CLUB

TO NEW ZEALAND FEBRUARY/MARCH 2018

Total Rugby is a dedicated specialist inbound rugby tour company. The


company has been operating since 2003 and host on average 14 groups per
season. Rugby is more than just a game in New Zealand. Total Rugby
understands and knows the rugby culture here and is best placed to
incorporate this into their rugby tour itineraries.

Based in Christchurch, Total Rugby promotes all New Zealand destinations.

Total Rugby is endorsed by Steve Hansen (current All Black coach), and
twice winning RWC All Black captain, Richie McCaw.

overview and the full itinerary. It contains information that describes all
activities in some detail. It does not contain personnel for the guest
breakfast or coaching sessions. These will be added closer to the arrival
time. It does not include timings and meal arrangements. These will be
added approximately two months before arrival.

DAY 1 FRIDAY 23 FEBRUARY


BUENOS AIRES/ AUCKLAND

Welcome to New Zealand. On arrival into Auckland after clearing customs


and immigration formalities and you will be met and welcomed by Total
Rugby staff who will assist uplifting your rental vehicle and your coach
transfer to your Auckland accommodation for your 3 night stay in the City
of Sails
Check in to Auckland Rose Park Hotel where
accommodation is confirmed for three nights.

The Auckland Rose Park has a convenient central location within the chic
Auckland city suburb of Parnell. Overlooking Sir Dove Myer Robinson park,
which incorporates Parnell Rose Gardens, the hotel is located close to key
motorway access points, vibrant retail and dining precincts and local
attractions. All rooms have wireless access, flatscreen TVs with Freeview and
Sky TV channels and there is a outdoor swimming pool on site.

Free afternoon to settle in and walk into downtown Auckland, Parnell or


through the Rose Garden into Judges Bay.

DAY 2 SATURDAY 24 FEBRUARY


AUCKLAND

A training session with your own coaching staff will be held this
morning at local grounds.

This afternoon enjoy a coach tour of Auckland city highlights.


Included in your tour is a stop at Sky Tower. At 328 meters this is
the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand and offers
breathtaking views for up to 80km in every direction. Travel up in
the glass-fronted lifts to one of the 3 spectacular viewing
platforms.

DAY 3 SUNDAY 25 FEBRUARY


AUCKLAND

This morning enjoy a tour of Eden Park


Feel the tension of the Players Tunnel, take Steve Hansens
hot-seat in the Coaches Box, have photo opportunities with
the best views of the stadium, sense the excitement of the
changing rooms, visit the hallowed turf on the historic No.
1 field. You'll be guided by expert historians who are
passionate about sports and the park.

Match 1
Your first tour match will be played today and will be followed
by an aftermatch function.
Meet Crusader staff who will introduce themselves and what you
can expect from the High Performance programme. (More details to

DAY 4 MONDAY 26 FEBRUARY


AUCKLAND/WELLINGTON

Travel through the central North Island over the central


plateau, the desert road and past volcanoes, both active and
dormant.

First stop Matamata for a Hobbiton Movie Set tour. You


will be fully guided around the 12 acre set; past Hobbit
Holes, the Mill and into the world-famous Green Dragon
Inn, where you will be presented with a complimentary,
exclusive Hobbit Southfarthing beverage to conclude your
own Middle-earth adventure.

Time also for a stop at Palmerston North to visit the NZ


Rugby Museum where you can really feel the rugby heritage
behind the All Blacks.

Check into you accommodation for your three night stay, close to downtown
Wellington. Wellington is New Zealands capital city and has one of the best
shopping and night-life vibes in the country

DAY 5 TUESDAY 27 FEBRUARY

A training session with your own coaching staff will be held this morning at
local grounds.

The rest of today is free time

DAY 6 WEDNESDAY 28 FEBRUARY


WELLINGTON

After breakfast enjoy a short walk into the heart of


Wellington. Walk along the waterfront to Te Papa, New
Zealands most visited museum and a national treasure.

The Wellington cable car is another city icon and a step


back in time. It is located within easy walking distance.

A visit to NZ Rugby Headquarters at 100 Molesworth


Street is also recommended. There is a range of rugby
memorabilia and silverware on display. A member of
the staff will show the group around and answer any
questions.

DAY 7 THURSDAY 1 MARCH


WELLINGTON/CHRISTCHURCH

This morning transfer to Wellington Airport for your flight to Christchurch.


Flight time 45 minutes

Christchurch is a garden city on the east coast of New


Zealands South Island, set on the Canterbury Plains.
Flat-bottomed punts glide on the Avon River, which runs
through the city centre. On its banks are cycling paths,
the green expanse of Hagley Park and the Christchurch
Botanic Gardens. In 2010 and 2011, 2 major earthquakes
destroyed many city-centre buildings, and restoration
work continues.

Spend the day at Rugby Park, home of the Crusaders, where you
will be amongst some of the best rugby brains on the planet.

DAY 9 SATURDAY 3 MARCH


CHRISTCHURCH

This morning head to one of Christchurchs unique tourist attractions where


its time to get cold Established in 1992, the International Antarctic
Attraction is located in the heart of a working Antarctic campus at
Christchurch International Airport. It is from here that many Antarctic
missions are organized.Included in your admission is a ride on the Hagglund
all terrain vehicle. Sit back, hold on and experience travelling across rough
terrain in this unique and exciting machine This ride is the only one of its
type in the world!! Watch the Little Blue Penguins be hand fed and
experience the 4D Movie.

Free time this afternoon

This evening head to AMI Stadium for a feast of Super Rugby as the
Crusaders play a home game in the early stages of the competition. See
the Crusader horsemen and feel the passion as the home crowd finds
their voice. (Subject to draw)
DAY 10 SUNDAY 4 MARCH

Your second tour match will be played today and will be
followed by an aftermatch function.

Work with Crusader staff preparing for your game

DAY 12 TUESDAY 6 MARCH


CHRISTCHURCH/HANMER SPRINGS/CHRISTCHURCH

Spend today taking in some further splendour and magnificence of the New
Zealand scenery with a day out of the city enjoying some thrills and
relaxation.

Travel north from Christchurch through the wineries region of Waipara to


Hanmer Springs, travel time approx. 1.5 hours.

Stop just south of Hanmer Springs for a New Zealand jet boat experience.
The jet boat was invented here in New Zealand by William Hamilton in 1954
and has opened up many otherwise inaccessible areas of New Zealand -
unlike a conventional propeller the jet boat has an impeller above the water
line enabling it to travel through extremely shallow water (3 or 75mm).

Join Thrill Seekers as you jet the entire


length of Hanmers spectacular Waiau
Gorge. Following the contours of the
steep canyon walls where possible,
elbows in as we pass within centimetres
of rugged rocks and cliff faces. Take in
the magnificent scenery, then .hold on
while you experience the famous Hamilton jet spin. Make no mistake this is
the best! Narrow gorges, braided shallows, white water rapids this trip has
it all. Over 30km of exciting jetboating spectacular scenery a total, unique
experience.
A short drive from Thrillseekers and you will arrive in the small thermal
township of Hanmer Springs. Heres theres time for lunch, a stroll around
the township and a visit to the world famous thermal reserve

players. Listen to them talk about life playing at the
elite level and gain an insight into what it takes to
get there.

CHRISTCHURCH/DUNEDIN

Depart Christchurch heading south through the Canterbury


Plains, your journey south will take you through the rural
township of Ashburton. Then to Timaru where a stop for a
training run is suggested. Continue on State Highway 1
through Oamaru, then stop to view the Moeraki Boulders -
these are a group of very large spherical stones on
Koekohe Beach near Moeraki on the Otago
Coast.

Arrive in Dunedin late afternoon. Check in to the Leviathan Hotel


where accommodation is confirmed for your final 2 nights

DAY 16 SATURDAY 10 MARCH


DUNEDIN

This morning enjoy a city highlights coach tour of Dunedin. Scottish


Presbyterian settlers arrived her in 1848 and Dunedin lays claims to New
Zealands first university, first girls high school, first chocolate factory, first
public botanic gardens, first daily newspaper, first cable car public transport,
first kerosene street-lighting and first public art gallery. The first telephone
call in New Zealand was also made here, and your tour will include the
worlds steepest street - Baldwin Street.

DUNEDIN/AUCKLAND

Free time prior to transfer to Dunedin Airport for your domestic flight to
Auckland to connect with your homeward bound flight.
