Dear Property Owner:

I am writing to inform you of an upcoming change on your tax bill. In March, the Onondaga
County Legislature unanimously passed a resolution increasing your Sanitary District (Sewer
Use) Charge. This increase in charges applies to only to mixed-use buildings. Below is the
language from the Legislatures resolution:

Mixed use properties having both residential and commercial use three-fourths
unit per family plus 1 unit assigned for the total commercial space, or, alternatively,
in the event that the actual water usage exceeds the calculation of gallons per unit
within this subsection for the residential and commercial portions of the property,
the number of units to be assigned to such property shall be based on water bills, as
follows: 1. Up to 137,000 gallons per year one unit; 2. One unit and fraction
thereof for each 137,000 gallons per year

Last year, you paid $415.24 . In the 2018 tax year, your sewer charge is estimated to increase to
$726.25 . Your rate could be higher depending on your usage.
This letter is to notify you of this upcoming change. Because the city collects county taxes, these
charges will appear on your 2018 county tax bill, however, the city of Syracuse did not set these
new rates. For more information on these new charges, contact Onondaga County.
