Background
The drivetrain of a motor vehicle is the group of components that deliver power to the
driving wheels. This excludes the engine or motor that generates the power.

History
In 1893, before the establishment of a modern automotive industry in Britain, English
Engineer Bramah Joseph Diplock patented a four-wheel-drive system for a traction engine,
including four-wheel steering and three differentials, which was subsequently built.

Function
The function of the drivetrain is to couple the engine that produces the power to the driving
wheels that consume this mechanical power.
Description:
It includes the transmission, the driveshaft, the axles and the wheels. The driveline includes
everything in the chain from the engine to the wheels, but the drivetrain consists of everything
after the transmission all driveshafts, axles, joints, differentials and wheels.

Operation:
The operation of any transaxle is exactly the same as that of any transmission. The
difference is this: instead of being connected via a long driveshaft to the rear axle, the
transmissions output shaft drives a large gear that meshes directly with the differentials ring gear.
And the differential itself is located in the transaxle housing, mounted parallel to the transmission.
As the power is applied, the differential distributes it to the two front wheels via half shafts
