3. Write a Reflection on the Exercise

Finally, reflect on this experience by considering the following questions
Which of these options seems the most important to you right now given your goals?
How well do these targets align with what you know about yourself?
What was valuable about this process? Surprising?
What do you plan to do with the information you found?

Given my current goals, I feel that the most important job for me right now would be the Human
Resources Assistant job at NGKF. This job combines my interests and skills the best of these options,
as it is a Human Resources position at a real estate advisory firm. I think this would be a great
starting position and eventually could lead to management positions later on in HR. I think I have
the necessary organizational, strong analytic, and oral and written skills for this job, and I think my
strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment would make me the
perfect candidate. These targets align well with what I know about myself because I tried to only
included jobs that I thought I would be able to excel at. I read and reviewed not only the job
description but the required skills, as well. For each of these jobs, organizational skills were
prioritized. Each option also required the applicant to have excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, which I believe is also one of my strengths. This process was extremely
valuable because I was able to dig deeper into jobs I could apply for now or in the near future, and it
was helpful to see what options are out there. I was surprised with the number of part-time
internships/jobs are out there that are used for training and experience; I think this is a great way
for people to get their foot in the door and gain insight in a certain field before committing a career
to it. I plan to use this information to conduct further research about these fields of work. There
were many other options besides the ones I chose in all related areas as well. I found this process to
be good practice for searching jobs even just to read about what certain jobs do. If you research a
general term on one of these career websites, it will display all the jobs pertaining to that keyword.
By going through some of these jobs and reading about what companies do and what they expect
from employees, you gather information about different companies and positions that could lead to
further exploration.
