Executive Job Sources

AllExecutiveJobs
UK-based source for international senior executive positions. You do not need to register in order to view listings and apply for consideration. For an
interesting view of the database listings, select Job File from the menu at the bottom of the front page. You'll see a list of fast links to the jobs by industry
sector, UK location, or International location.
BlueSteps
A service of the Association of Executive Search Consultants, the worldwide professional association for retained executive search firms. BlueSteps offers
two services for executives seeking new career options, Executive Profile and SearchConnect. Executive Profile allows you to submit your resume for
consideration by the members of AESC. SearchConnect is a searchable directory of all AESC members that you can use to make direct contact with firms
that handle searches in your industry and functional field. These services can be purchased separately or as a package. If you are actively seeking new
opportunities, we recommend you purchase the package for better exposure and better connections at a lower cost.
CEO Update
CEO Update publishes CEO Job Opportunities Update listing over 150 new vacancies every two weeks for executives in associations, foundations,
nonprofit organizations, and professional societies. It is really a print publication, with the website serving as an archive of positions announced in
previous editions that are still open.
exec-appointments.com / http://www.fttoolkit.co.uk/executivejobs/
"We advertise permanent, interim and contract jobs over £50,000 from top executive management recruiters and employers in all areas across the UK,
Europe and the rest of the world." Their search page is quite detailed, but you only need to select ONE option (like "permanent") in order to start your
search. Registration is not required to search for jobs or even get the contact info to submit your resume, but by registering and storing your resume here
you can save your search, execute a job agent to notify you of new listings in the database, and set up a one-button application process. You can also access
their National Register for Non-Executive Directors (see Board Recruitment) from this page. Really pricy for recruiters. Between $960-3200 for a
posting.
exec2exec.com
Executive level recruitment portal for senior level candidates, recruiters and employers. While its primary market is the UK and Europe, there are some
listings for the US & Canada as well as "Other Worldwide". You can search the jobs database and review listings, but you must register (free) in order to
apply for positions that interest you. Your registration will also let you set up email alerts and keep track of all applications you've made. exec2exec is part
of the The UK Apollo Group, parented by BNB Recruitment Solutions PLC.
Experteer.co.uk
This is a candidate-driven site. Experteer is an executive career service for leading professionals and around the world. "Based on your qualifications and
career goals, it matches you to specific senior management jobs and provides confidential access to a pre-approved headhunter network." You must
register to view the full job announcements, but you can see a considerable amount of information before making that decision. Scroll down the front page
to quickly browse jobs by Location (city), Industry, Functions, Career Level, and International (currently UK, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria,
Belgium, and the US). I am really quite impressed by what I see here.
Executive Registry
This is a pay site for candidates. Kennedy Information, publisher of several directories of recruiters, now offers a confidential online service where
executives seeking new opportunities can post resumes, review "pre-qualified" postings from executive search firms, and connect with the search firms.
You can purchase 6-month or 1-year memberships, and they are not cheap. However, the fees are similar to other services, Kennedy's is a well-established
and trusted name in this industry, and there is a 7-day money back guarantee. No information on fees to recruiters.
Executives on the Web.com
Based in the UK, this site lists executive positions worldwide. Neat feature: before candidates check the "Apply" button, you must say that yes, you hold
work authorization for this country.
Goldjobs
A UK-based advertising portal for executives commanding salaries upward of £100,000 / €140,000
6FigureJobs.com
This site "provides experienced professionals the opportunity to confidentially seek and be considered for some of the most prestigious jobs in the
country." Really expensive.
TheLadders
I'm listing this site with reservations. It claims to be a site for professionals in the $100K and up earnings arena with confidential access to good jobs from
around the world.. Between $500 and up for one posting.
Experience.com
This is an online recruiting and career management service for the students and alumni of the many member institutions. As we have seen in similar
services that target specific college career centers. This is great for when a client requests to see candidates from a certain school (i.e., Aggies, Longhorns).
Engineering and Contract Job Sources
ContractJobHunter was Contract Employment Weekly
This newsletter and website from CE Publications contains ads for technical, engineering, and IT/IS contract employment nationwide. All jobs are
viewable by guests as well as members, but members get other resources (online resume, Hot Sheets, daily emails, etc.). Review their fee schedule for
subscription options and reasons.
engineer.info
...a metasearch targeting engineering jobs posted all over the place. Select a job listing to be transported to the original site where you can submit your
application via that site.
Engineer.net
...a somewhat different job source for engineers. They sign up clients (employers) and then use a robot to index the jobs listed on the client's website. When
you execute a search at Engineer.net, the results direct you to the client's website where you review the posting and submit your resume directly to them. If
you wish, you can store an "agent" to execute this search on whatever schedule you wish and then email you the results. My concerns: I see no real
information tell me "who is Engineer.net".
Engineering Central
...search the full database or browse by job category. Entry-level job seekers have their own area in which to search. You can do a lot here without having to
register your resume, but if you find a lot here you may want to consider it.
Engineering Daily.net
...marvelous daily news site for all engineering professionals. Articles are contributed by fellow engineers on topics like ethics, lifestyle, finance, education,
and career. There is a nice job board which combs the web looking for relevant job announcements and pulls them into one location for you. Some of the
career articles are very targeted, like the one on applying for the PE license (I remember when my uncle did this). Soon-to-graduate engineering students
will want to look over the Guide for New Engineers, a series of articles on making that transition from academe to the real world. More experienced
engineers who have been laid off will appreciate You've Lost Your Job, Now What?. They have a few topics in each of these guides which have not yet been
covered, but I assume they will get to them. Lost of good information here!
Engineering Job Source
...free web pages and weekly newsletters for engineering jobs all over the US.
ExpatEngineer.net
... they describe themselves as "International Engineering Job Site for job Seekers, recruiters and employers involved in the Engineering, Oil & Gas,
Exploration, IT, Mining, Petrochemical, Building and Construction, Civil Engineering, Transport and Logistics and Telecommunications sectors." I see a
lot of the oil & gas and related openings plus engineering as the major offerings here. Registration is not required to search or apply for jobs.
MaterialsViews.com Job Market
Brought to you by Wiley-VCH, "MaterialsViews.com is a new service that will help keep you up-to-date on these developments. It provides you with short
news articles on highlights selected by the editors of some of the top journals in the field. All areas of materials are covered: From the borders of chemistry
and physics to the boundaries of life sciences and engineering, and from basic research to cutting-edge applications. In addition to the news items, Wiley's
comprehensive journals and books program in the field of materials science and related topics is presented." Nice job board for all science jobs. This
replaces the phySpy.com search engine.
ResearchGATE
...a network for scientists designed to permit better communication between researchers and encourage research collaboration. In this way, it is like an
expanded LinkedIn for the scientific community. Registration permits you to connect with others in your field or in complementary fields from around the
world, participate in discussions, and review the full text of research articles posted here. They also have an extensive Jobs Board with academic position
announcements, post doc fellowships, and funding opportunities from around the world. Registration is not necessary to access these listings.
TechCareers
International jobs for IT and Engineering professionals. Now part of the Beyond.com network.
TechXtra: OneStep Jobs
"Latest Job Vacancies in Engineering, Mathematics, & Computing from Top Sources." This is pretty cool. Yes, it's a agregator, but it operates a little
differently than most of these services. First, it is limited to these specific engineering and mathematics-related areas. Second, it only includes services
selected for their value, not their huge content. Third, "It is important to note that OneStep Services contain only the latest items available from a range
content providers - not access to their full content." You can search all the feeds or just select those that interest you the most. TechXtra is an initiative of
Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, and was developed by staff from the Library, the ICBL and Media Services. It is a little biased towards the UK, but it's
good.
