The AKABFE organizing committee invites postdoctoral fellows and student members to
participate in the first AKABFE research spotlight competition, to take place during the
2017 ASABE meeting.
Each invited presenter will be expected to give a 5-minute research spotlight talk, followed
by a 2-minute Q&A session. These talks should be abbreviated versions of the 15-minute
presentations that usually occur at the ASABE annual meeting. Accordingly, each
participant should present a clear and succinct as well as interesting summary of his or her
research activities.
These presentations are intended to prepare our next generation educators and
researchers by acquainting them with the persuasive art of conveying complex
explanations succinctly within a short time frame so that they can become adept at
reducing such explanations to their most important concepts. Skill at presenting ideas
succinctly matters greatly when attending academic conferences, job interviews, and
professional meetings, helping to promote information exchange, networking, and
collaboration.
If you want to participate, kindly fill out the attached form and send it to Professor
Chang (and cc to Professor Suh). Should any questions arise, do not hesitate to contact us.
