How to Reset Password NEW
Introduction
In order to reset the password with the new Hikvision Password Strategy you need to download a new version of
SADP tools software (v2.2.3.6 Build 20150428) (Fig. 1) and it can be downloaded from Portal:

It can be used on Front-End devices with firmware V5.3.0 and on Back-End devices with firmware version V3.3.0.

*** You need to download a new version of SADP tools software (v2.2.3.6 Build 20150428).
By using the New SADP tools you can distinguish if the front-end device is using OLD or NEW firmware. If your
device has an old firmware v3.1.0 (Fig. 2) youll be recovering password by using the old system. With the new
firmware v3.3.0 (Fig. 3), default username and password (admin, 12345) are no longer applicable. The user will
be then prompt to assign new password during initial password recovery attempt.

Step n1.
To request a password reset code youll need to create a new folder in your PC (Fig. 4) where to export a *.XML
file which well send you later on.

Step n2.
Open SADP tool and select the device you need a recovery code for. Click on Browse next to option [Export].

Select directory path in the new folder youve created previously and click [Choose] (Fig. 6)

Now click on the option [Export] (Fig. 7) and a file named DeviceKey.xml will be generated which youll need to
send to Hikvision Technical Support (support.eu@hikvision.com)

*** Click option [Export] and a file named DeviceKey.xml will be generated.
Step n5.
Once you send the DeviceKey.xml file to Hikvision Technical Support youll receive a special encrypted file
named Encrypt.xml. Save this file in same folder where youve previously saved the DeviceKey.xml. (Fig. 8)
Youll need the path to import the encrypted key later on.

Step n6.
In SADP tool select the device again and click [Browse] to the path where you saved the Encrypt.xml file (Fig. 9).

Step n7.
Now you can set up a password of your choice by clicking [New Password] and [Confirm Password] (Fig. 11).
Then click [Import] and a Reset password succeed message will show up (Fig. 11).
