different weather reports and then will get to create their own
weather report in groups using Ipads.

Critical Thinking: Students will demonstrate their critical thinking


skills when analyzing the weather reports from youtube and the
weather channel.

Creating: Students will create their own weather reports on one


specific type of precipitation using the camera on Ipads.

Communication: Students will communicate, through videos and


reports, the hazards and warning signs of their type of precipitation.

Collaboration: Students will collaborate through working in groups


and researching their precipitation.

Analyze: Students will analyze the weather reports on each type of


precipitation in order to gather information of what it looks like on
the weather map, the signs of it, and how people can prepare for the
weather.

Creating: Students will create their own weather report using the
camera on the Ipad as if they were delivering the morning news.

Introduction/Engagement:

Students will activate prior knowledge and brainstorm what


precipitation means to them using their Ipads and the Linoit
application.

Lesson: (developmental procedures)

Students will brainstorm what precipitation means to them to


activate prior knowledge.
Students will watch weather reports on different types of
precipitation and take notes on a worksheet giving to them.
Students will take a precipitation and use the information they
took from the videos and work in groups to research more about
that precipitation.
Students will create their own weather reports using the
camera on the Ipads to share the hazards, signs, and how to
prepare for that type of precipitation as if they were giving the
morning news report.
Students will share their finished videos with the class.

Modification:
ELL learners will receive a guided note taking sheet to help
them when watching each video.

Enrichment:

After completing their videos students are free to explore


extra resources such as weather.com to further their
understanding.
