ENGINEERING DESIGN

PROCESS
Engineering design process is a methodical series of
steps that engineers use in creating functional
products and processes. The process is highly
iterative. It is a decision making process in which the
basic sciences, mathetics and engineering sciences
are applied to convert resources optimally to meet a
stated objective. The fundamental elements of the
design process are
1.establishment of objectives and criteria
2.synthesis
3.analysis
4.construction
5.testing and
6.evaluation
Eg: Solar city on track-Masdar city
Designed by the British architectural firm Foster and
Partners, Masdar city relies on solar energy and
other renewable energy sources. Masdar city will be
the latest of a small no of highly planned,
specialized, research and technology-intensive
municipalities that incorporate a living environment.
Masdar city has terracotta walls decorated with
arabesque patterns. From a distance, the looks like a
cube. Buildings are clustered close together and at
the end of the streets create just enough wind
turbulence to push air upwards, creting a flushing
effect that cools the streets.Masdar use a mix of
automated electric powered vehicles and other
clean-energy. There are incubator buildings designs.
The entire powering of the city is alone through on-
site methods such as rooftop solar panels. Solar
power system derive clean, pure energy from the
sun. Installing solar panels may help combat green
house gas emmisions, pollution and global
warming.
Move to a cleaner,
Renewable energy today.
