Juventude e poltica em foco: estudo sobre o comportamento poltico de jovens em

Fortaleza.

Resumo: Esta pesquisa analisa os discursos de jovens residentes no Bairro Bom Jardim, em
Fortaleza-CE, investigando o comportamento poltico e as representaes da cultura poltica
presentes nas falas destes moradores. O referencial terico que embasou a pesquisa foram os
conceitos de capital social e cultura poltica. Capital social so vnculos de confiana, cooperao e
associativismo que facilitam atores e grupos sociais a obterem fins especficos. Uma comunidade
ou organismo social que possui estoques de capital social, que consegue articular e fortalecer os
laos de confiana e cooperao entre os indivduos, reproduz uma cultura de conscientizao
cidad. Nesta perspectiva, analisar a cultura poltica de um organismo social nos permite apreender
como se d o comportamento poltico e quais os valores culturais norteadores do processo de
escolha de seus representantes. A metodologia adotada foi realizao de um Grupo de Discusso,
onde foram exibidos, para seis moradores, a propaganda poltica de sete candidatos a prefeitura de
Fortaleza, em 2012. Os dados coletados indicam a carncia de confiana (capital social) na esfera
cultural dos jovens eleitores estudados no sistema poltico e demonstram a prevalncia da
personalizao e da aprovao da imagem do candidato como critrio para a deciso do voto.

Abstract: This research analyzes the discourse of young people living in the neighborhood Bom
Jardim, in Fortaleza, to investigate the political behavior and the representations of political culture
present in the speeches of these residents. The theoretical framework used in the research were the
concepts of social capital and political culture. Social Capital are bonds of trust, cooperation and
associations that facilitate actors and social groups to achieve specific purposes. A community or
social body which has a social capital stock, that can articulate and strengthen the bonds of trust
and cooperation between individuals, could to develop a citizen awareness culture. In this
perspective, analyze the political culture of a social organism allows us to grasp how is the political
behavior and what the guiding cultural values of the process choice of their representatives . The
methodology adopted was the fulfillment of a Discussion Group, where they were displayed for six
residents, the propaganda of seven candidates the city Hall of Fortaleza, in 2012. The data collected
indicate a lack of trust (social capital) in the cultural sphere of young voters studied in the the
political system and demonstrated the prevalence of customization and approval of the "image" of
the candidate as a criterion for voting decision.
