Environmental Problems:

Amazon Rainforest:
Deforestation:
for lumber
We as humans need resources to live. We cut down trees to use wood and lumber from trees to
build houses and furniture. We are not replanting these trees as fast as we are cutting them
down. This leads to a decrease in the tree population.
making space for cow pastures
This is all just to get more money. Cows are a lower risk investment and can easily be exported
to other countries to make profit. The cow ranching has increased CO2 gases and causes more
greenhouse gasses. Since the trees are cut down for these animals, there are less plants to
breathe in carbon dioxide and more animals breathing it out.

Species Endangerment:
Human overpopulation
The expanding human population has driven other species out of their habitat. As our
population is growing we need more space to house ourselves. We end up destroying animals
habitats.
Our needs for food / wants for different tastes
We humans need food to live. Some species like the Dodo bird was believed to have been
hunted into extinction.

Climate Change:
Inventions and Innovations
As more inventions and innovations are being created for our needs and wants, more land is
used for factories to manufacture them. This creates more pollution which leads to more
greenhouse gases that traps in more of the Suns heat.
Countries
The more developed countries in the world are using up more oil, gas and coal which results in
an increase in greenhouse gases which results in global warming. They are making the biggest
impact.

Governments Greed
Thought of loss of jobs
The government has thinks that protecting the environment will cause a loss of jobs. For
companies that produce chemicals, they would have to spend their own money cleaning it up.
The jobs for coal and chemical production will lessen due to not needing as many people to do
the work.
