ONLINE TRAINING AND PLACEMENT SYSTEM

ABSTRACT.

Online placement system aims at providing the facility to automate and simplify the process
of registration and list generation of eligible students for placement. This system do all work regarding
placement like collecting student records, Authenticate and activate the student profiles, Notifying
eligible students via automated Email and SMS, Check the number and percentage of placed and
unplaced students. The system provides the modules like Student, Alumni, Admin, Departmental Staff,
and Company. Proper log-in with time and role based secured access is provided to all. Students logging
should be able to upload their information in the form of Resume. Placement Officer can access, view
information of the users and prepare schedule of all activities regarding placements. Company can give
their own application procedure by providing link. College staff can see the registered students and their
status. All registered users are eligible to participate in forum.

I. INTRODUCTION
The increasing advantages of automated system now are at highest position thus many manual processes are automated. Since the automated
system is demanded now-a-days, educational infrastructures like colleges needed their manual system to function on computer system one of
such system which is of major importance is placement automation for campus recruitment. This project is aimed at developing a web
application for the placement department of the college. This system can be used as an application for the placement officer of the college to
manage the student information with regards to placement. Students logging should be able to upload their information in the form of resume.
So, all the information will store the details of the students including their background information, educational qualification, personal details,
university marks and all the information related to their resume. This system helps company to access the student information with regards to
placement. Computer based information system are designed to improve existing systems. Company can notify the students about the
recruitment via sending email and SMS. This system can be used as an application for college to manage the student records according
placement.

II. METHODOLOGY
This project is aimed at developing an online application for the Placement Department of the college. Once you open this web application at the
front end all the schedule or events are available to everyone. There are mainly five type of users they are Current Student, Alumni, Company,
Admin, Departmental Staff. The Admin is the master user, he gets the most number of priorities than the other user. The different functions
involve the case of an Admin are updating, approval. The Admin can view and approve the various application forms. There are two types of
student; Current Student and Alumni. Students can edit there Resume online, and Update them constantly. Students can very flexibly search for
and view Company and vacancy details. Student can access relevant resources placed online for them. A separate registration will be done by
alumni and separate profile will be maintained for each alumni. They will have access of forum, with which they can post queries, reply queries.
This will help the current student as there will be sharing of ideas by alumnis. Students will also use the system to read important
announcements, to get information on assessment, to see the result of assessments recorded in the system. Each user provided a different
features and authorization. The Placement Officer can give an approval to edited information done by the student. In addition, Placement Officer
can search the eligible student based on the company criteria and can generate the list. Also system can send an automated E-mail and SMS to
the eligible students. Placement Officer can communicate with the students through the forum. When Placement Officer first login they see all
the recently changed or created companies and vacancies. Placement Officer can gather information on all students for which they have
appropriate permissions.

They can see the information provided by the student like personal details, educational details, extracurricular activity or other information. They
put online notices, schedule and events so that the entire user can view this. One authorize Departmental Staff can register with the system. Staff
can give the required material to the student for the placement. They also upload / download the Information. They can communicate with the
student or Placement Officer through forum. The companies will have to get registered for the first time so that their informations like the URL,
contact information, papers, vacancies will be provide. Companies can edit their own contact information to help keep it current. Companies can
give all students that have applied for vacancies, together with the information on their availability, application time cover letters, attached
Resume, etc. The proposed Online Training and Placement System is intended to avoid all the drawbacks of existing system. It will add some
more features than the existing system. The proposed Online Training and Placement System is a cost effective way of doing the manual
processes done in the existing system. This helps the organization to win the war in the existing competitive world.

Admin: Placement officer of the college act as a admin for the online training and placement system. A different link is provided for the admin
to get login page. Admin can login using the username and password. After login admin will get the admin panel. Admin will have all the
authorities for the system. Admin can verify, view, edit and can delete the student, alumni and company. Admin need to register a staff
coordinator for each of the departments in the college. All the registered students, alumni and company are approved by the admin. The
notification provide by the company are also verified and approved by the admin. He can add the downloadable study materials for the purpose
of training. Admin can send the posts to the students about the upcoming events regarding the placement and training activities. The job details
of placed, unplaced, trained and untrained students will be provided by administrator. The admin can help the company to access the student
information with regard to placement. With the system admin that is placement officer of the college can easily view and manage all the student
information.

Students: Students first need to register with placement and training system of the college. In the home page of the system registration option is
provided and students need to provide their basic details in registration form and get registered. Once the students do the registration admin will
get the information about that and he will verify and approve the students. After getting approved by the admin, students can log in to the system
with the username and password which they are registered. After login students will get the dashboard where they can manage their own profile.
Students will be provided with the option manage TP data where they can enter their all educational and personal details. Even the students can
upload their photo for the profile. All the information about the students is stored in the database. Study materials uploaded by the admin and the
department coordinator can be downloaded by the students for the training purpose regarding the placement. All the notifications given by the
company and the admin are shown on dashboard for the student. Company invite for student about placement will be informed immediately to
the student via automated mail and SMS. Another functionality that we are provided in the system is resume building. The simple format of the
resume will be provided and students can download their resume which is automatically generated by system by extracting the information of
the student from the database. And finally with the logout option student can logout from the system.

Company: Company registration is available in home page of the system. Initially company need to register and this will be verified and
approved by the admin. After the approval company can login. Company need to login with the username and password. After login company
will get the dashboard where it can manage its own profile. Even company can also upload the photo for its profile. Company can view the
information of the registered student with respect to the department of their interest. The company can filter the students depending on the
company criteria, that they can select the student by specifying the minimum and maximum percentage range. After sorting out the students
company can send invite to the selected students, and automated mail and SMS will be sent to the students immediately. If any notifications and
job details regarding placement, company can use send post option to notify the students. Companies can logout from system using logout
option.

Alumni: Alumni are the passed out students of the college. In our system information about the alumni are also kept. Alumni will first register
to the system that will be verified and approved by the admin. After the approval alumni can get login to the system. After login alumni will get
the dashboard. Alumni can also manage their own profile where they can upload their photo for their profile. Even they can also download the
study materials. Alumni can also send post about the job details which is verified by the admin and is posted on the students dashboard. On the
dashboard alumni can also manage their TP data about education and personnel details. Finally they can logout from the system using logout
option.

Departmental coordinator: Departmental coordinator is a staff from a particular department and is added to the system by the admin.
Username and password for the departmental coordinator is provided by the admin to the departmental coordinator. Admin can login to system
using that username and password.

After login into the system, the departmental coordinator can view the student information of their respective department. Departmental
coordinator can also upload the study material to the respective department for the sake of training for the placement. He can also edit, delete the
students. Even he can also view the alumni and company which are registered with the system and can also view the notifications and posts sent
by the company and alumni. He can logout by using logout option.

Functionalities of System

A. Resume Building: Standardized format will be provided and student can use it to generate their resume. All students information will
be available in the database .This information can be extracted automatically from the database for generating standard resume. This
simplifies and speeding up the process of resumes building

B. Mail and SMS Notification: As per company criteria E-mail and SMS will be sending to eligible student. So, that interested student can
view the notifications. Automatic SMS will be sent to the student as shown in below snapshot.

C. Forum: Students, Department staff, Alumni as well as Placement officer can take part in forums. Student problems will be discussed in
forums. Alumni student can share their experience. Placed or Shortlisted student can share their interview experience and in forum student get
notifications.

III. CONCLUSION
From a proper analysis of positive points and constraints on the component, it can be concluded that the product is a highly efficient
GUI based component. This component can be easily plugged in many other systems. Also the component is user friendly. Generally the TPOs
of the Colleges has to face a lot of problems in management of the Students information. This all information has to be managed manually. So,
there is a need to develop a system that can solve the mentioned problem. This software comes with just that solution.
