My Objective
To achieve the highest grades I can on my current course so that I am able to have
more opportunities for work in the future. I do not know if I want to move onto
university at this moment in time, but if I were to do that then I could take up a
course such as computer games technology, concept art for video games,
programming, audio engineer and that would give me a better chance at working in
the gaming industry. Also, if I do not plan to go to college then I could try and get
an internship at a company and start at the very bottom and work my way up,
through the years.
Academic
2016-July 2018: Leicester College
Level 3 Creative Media Production
Year 1 Modules:
Single-Camera Techniques
Group project.
The aim was to create a short 3-5 minute movie that would be submitted and
marked based upon the story, narrative, screen play and cinematography. My role
in the creation of this was the camera man and I had to make sure that all of the
shots that were taken were in focus and the actors and props could be seen clearly
and without trouble. The skills that I learnt were how to use a camera and tripod
efficiently but the most important skill I improved was how to work well in a group.
I worked with a total of 6 people (three of them were the crew like myself and
three of them were the actors) and we had to work together in order to produce the
best short movie to the best of our ability. As for the final result for this project I
achieved a grade better that the minimum grade which is a P Pass. The grade I
was given was a Merit (M). This improved my communication skills, group work
skills and taught me how to use the basics of Adobe Premiere pro.
Technical Skills:
Adobe Premiere Pro I know how to use the basic mechanics of this
application because the group I was a part of had to use this in order to edit
the short movie that was produced.
Adobe Photoshop I am not fully aware on how to use this to its maximum
potential, but I do know a few features that allows to me edit an image to a
basic level.
At work:
May 2015 Grove youth centre, Braunstone, Leicester
This was when I was attending high school and we had to undergo work
experience for one week and I chose to work at my local youth centre. It was for a
full week and whilst I was there, I developed many new skills and learnt new things
when I was there. Some of the things I had to do were things like, making leaflets
as the staff were holding an event in town on the upcoming weekend, so I made
leaflets that featured the different acts that would be there. Moreover, I also made
a three sided A3 board which featured pictures and information about the youth
centre as the manager of that location had a meeting and he had to show and
explain what the youth centre did for the local people. I did get feedback on this
and the manager said they the board got many compliments and praise. Whilst
here, I learnt what working in a work environment is like, I also developed my
communication skills as I spoke to youth members and staff alike. Most importantly
I realised what it is like to work toward deadlines and I experienced this because I
had to produce the billboard within two days as the managers meeting was on the
third.
I like to play video games because I believe it is a good way to pass time
and it is also something I enjoy and have a passion for.
I also enjoy listening to music as it is very relaxing. I also like to sing when I
can because I enjoy doing it and I also find it very interesting and healthy to
do.
Going out with friends and family is also something I like and this is because
I like to spend time with people that are close to me, especially family.
I also like to write songs and fictional stories in my spare time because I find
them interesting to do and I also think that I am a creative person and by
doing these things, they allow me to express this.
