INTRODUCTION

At present, electricity has become a lifeline for human population. The demand of

electricity is gradually increasing day by day. Modern technology requires a huge amount of

electrical power for its several operations. Electricity production is the single largest source of

pollution in the whole world. On the other hand the rising concern between the gap of the demand

and supply of electricity for masses has highlighted the exploration of alternative sources of

energy and its sustainable use. Moreover, human population all over the world and therefore the

energy demand is increasing rapidly day by day linearly. According, it is an objective of the present

of the present invention to provide a method of electrical power generation from thins increasing

human population that does not negatively impact the environment. This technology is based on

a principle called the piezoelectric effect, in which certain materials have the ability to build up an

electrical charge from having pressure and strain applied to them. Piezoelectricity refers to the

ability of some materials to generate an electric potential in response to applied pressure.

Harvesting of energy which means energy is already available, but is going to waste if not utilized.

Embedded piezoelectric material can provide the magic of converting pressure exerted by the

moving people into electric current.

This project provides a system wherein the researcher make a device which can deliver

an electricity that can light up a streetlight nearby the device. In this device the vehicles passing

through the highway will be the one who will provide kinetic energy that device will convert into

electrical energy. This can be an eco-friendly and very helpful to the environment, especially in

polluted areas like urban places.

 This research is conducted to use available new technologies found in the market to

integrate more helpful ideas which support efficient electricity usage to help people in the future

in various thinkable ways.

1.1 The Problem and Its Background

Everyday people use electricity in their everyday life even though most of the people

has a difficulty in paying their electricity bill. Their everyday activity depends in electricity

most of the time. The group thought an alternative way on how to provide an electricity

through a device called piezoelectric device.

The problem to be solved in this study is how to harvest wasted energy from the

vehicles passing through and use this energy as a clean source of energy. Another problem

is if range, size, speed and types of vehicle matters in producing energy using piezoelectric

device. The study will provide a free source of electricity and be able to illuminate certain

street lights on the preferred area nearby Adamson University

1.2 Objectives of the Study

In order to achieve this goal one requires an intelligent circuit and equipment that can

detect the vibration and produce an electricity through a device, a piezoelectric sensor can be

used instead of making a program and installing an electrical system. The vibration produce by

the vehicles passing through the sensor which may varies in terms of speed of the vehicle, volume

of the vehicle passing through the sensor. Logically a circuit is required to produce an energy

based on the piezoelectric sensor. Thus leads to energy production and obtain a sufficient amount

of energy to supply a street lights nearby Adamson University.

Specifically, this proposed research aims to:

1. To produce an electricity through piezoelectric device

2. To determine if the size of the vehicle have an effect in obtaining an electricity

through the piezoelectric device.

3. To determine speed of the vehicle does an effect in the generation of electricity

in piezoelectric device.

4. To determine if the volume of vehicle passing through the piezoelectric device

does have more capability to produce more electricity through the use of

piezoelectric device.

5. To know if through piezoelectric device can obtain a sufficient amount of

electricity to supply lighting road.

1.3 Significance of the Study

Significance of the study must emphasize the significance of the research to the

research community. It must be specific. It must focus on the importance of the data

to be gathered for reference of future researchers. This section must emphasize the

significance of the proposed research to future researchers, to electrical engineering field,

to Adamson University, to the community, or to the society.

The main concern of this study is to provide alternative source of electricity and

lessen the use of energy. It is a major challenge to find a trade between comforting and

producing a new source of energy. Expanding this system into urban areas and rural

areas, it could automatically be source of energy. It can operate multiple lighting system

or basically streetlight near Adamson through the energy produce by the piezoelectric

device. Moreover, the device will be very helpful to the people in rural and urban areas,

to Adamson University.

To generate voltage through the piezoelectric device installed in roads

To know the generated voltage produce by each vehicles passing through

the road.

1.4 Scope and Limitation (or Delimitation)

The main concern of this study is to provide alternative source of electricity and

lessen the use of energy. It is a major challenge to find a trade between comforting and

producing a new source of energy. Expanding this system into urban areas, it could
 automatically be source of energy. It can operate multiple lighting system or even to light

a whole community or school through the energy produce by the piezoelectric device.

1.5 Theoretical/Conceptual Framework

Theoretical framework is an existing framework on how to solve the problem. It

is widely accepted, a general knowledge in the scientific and research community.
Conceptual framework is the researchers framework on how to solve the problem.
Conceptual framework of researchers is usually based on one or two theoretical
framework. It is an innovation, so to speak, to existing way of solving a problem or
conducting a research.

1.6 Definition of Terms

Terms to be defined are those important terms in the research that must be
defined by the researchers themselves (generally based on existing definition) that
requires detail and clarification based on the context of the proposed research.
