FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fourth Exhibition at Wasagaming Community Arts

WASAGAMING, Manitoba (July 28, 2016)

Wasagaming Community Arts invites you to the fourth exhibition of the 2016 season, featuring works by artists Candace Lipischak
and Patrick Treacy. The exhibition opening is August 5, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Works will be displayed August 5
through August 23, 2016.

Candace Lipischak is a Franco-Manitoban Mtis artist who has been coping with post-traumatic stress disorder and
multiple sclerosis for over 15 years. Who Lipischak is as an artist today is due to the emotional and physical impact
of post traumatic growth. The philosophy behind Lipischaks work is a reawakening of the spirit, a new life
unearthed. Lipischak recycles collected materials (tin, metal, glass, forged steel) to give new meaning to these
objects.

Patrick Treacys exhibition, entitled The Acteon Project, is based on the classical myth of Acteon. Acteon, a
hunter who stumbles onto the Goddess Diana while she is bathing, is punished for his transgression by being
transformed into a stag. Treacy is most intrigued by the moment of metamorphosis that Acteon endures. Treacy
inserts the transformed character of Acteon into the depths of the boreal forests of Canada.

Please join us on August 5 to meet and greet the artists.
