Cording Foot
Pie para acordonados
The Cording Foot is a versatile accessory that is used for gathering, shirring,
decorative stitching or applying trims.

Applying Cords, Trims or Thin Braids


1. Thread a decorative cord, trim or thin braid through each of the foots
grooves or slots.
2. Secure the threads at the back of the foot by tying a knot.
3. Select a ZigZag type stitch, with a long length and wide stitch width.
(Several decorative stitches make great choices; experiment with
different decorative stitches.)
4. Place your fabric under the foot and sew.
Gathering
1. Place a single cord of pearl, cotton or string in a groove.
2. Secure cord by tying a knot at the back of the foot.
3. Select a narrow ZigZag, medium-long stitch length.
4. Test to ensure that the ZigZag stitches over the cord, not into the cord.
5. Place the fabric under the foot and sew.
6. After the stitching is done, pull the cord, which will draw up or gather the fabric.
7. Adjust the gathers evenly, then sew a straight stitch to secure the gathers into place.
Shirring
1. Place elastic into the groove or slot, pull to back and secure with knot.
2. Select a narrow ZigZag stitch, long-medium stitch length.
3. Test to ensure that the ZigZag stitches over the elastic thread, not into it.
4. After finishing stitching, knot the end of the elastic thread.
5. Sew another three rows of elastic evenly spaced apart.
6. Adjust the gathers evenly, and then sew a straight or decorative stitch to secure the
gathers into place.

Este pie para acordonados es un accesorio muy versatil que se utiliza para
plegar fruncir, para puntadas decorativas y para aplicar adornos.

Aplicando cordones, adornos o trenzas angostas


1. Enhebre un cordon o cinta decorativa, adorno o trenza angosta a travs de
cada una de las aberturas o ranuras del pie.
2. Asegure los hilos detras del pies con un nudo.
3. Seleccione una puntada en Zig Zag de puntada larga y ancha. (Varias
puntadas decorativas son una buena eleccin, experimente con diferentes
puntadas decorativas.)
4. Coloque la tela debajo del pie y cosa.
Plegado
1. Coloque un cordon sencillo de perlas, algodon o hilo en la ranura.
2. Asegure el cordon haciendo un nudo en la parte de atras del pie.
3. Seleccione un Zig Zag angosto, de puntada mediana-larga de longitud.
4. Haga una prueba para asegurarse que la puntada en Zig Zag esta sobre el cordo, no dentro del cordon.
5. Coloque la tela debajo del pie y cosa.
6. Despues que termine de hacer las puntadas, hale el cordon, el cual se recogera y asi recogera la tela,
formando el plegado.
7. Ajuste el recogido o plegado de manera que quede parejo, luego cosa unas puntadas para asegurarse
que el plegado se mantenga en su lugar.
Fruncir
1. Coloque el elastico en la abertura o ranura, hale hacia atras y asegurelo con un nudo.
2. Selecciones un Zig Zag angosto, con una puntada de longitud larga-mediana.
3. Haga una prueba para asegurarse que la puntada en Zig Zag esta sobre el elastico, no dentro
del elastico.
4. Despues que termine de hacer las puntadas, haga un nudo al final del hilo elastico.
5. Cosa otras tres hileras iguales de elastico, separadas de igual manera.
6. Ajuste el fruncido de manera uniforme, y luego cosa una puntada decorativa o recta de manera que el
fruncido se mantenga en su lugar.
