ComponentsinCylinder
Therotaryvanecompressorconsistsofamovingcoreelement,therotor[6]withslidingblades[4],
whichturnsonaneccentricaxiswithinastaticcylinder[3].Duetocentrifugalforcescausedbythe
rotation,thebladesslideandextendoutoftherotor'slongitudinalgrooves[5].Intheirextendedstate,
thesebladesfunctionlikevanesthatadjusttothecylinder'sshapeastheyaredrivenbytherotor.
CompressionCycle
Incomingair[1]entersthecompressorwhentheregulatingpiston[2]yieldstopressurestatesinthe
aircircuit.Theairisdrawnintothecylinderbytherotatingvanes,whichenclosespacehermeticallyas
theycoursethroughthecompressionarea.Theairiscompressedasthevolumesbetweenthevanes
arereducedduetotheeccentricityofthecylinderwallandtherotor.Aftermaximumcompression[7],
theairexitsthroughtheoutlet[8].Intensiveinjectionofcoolant[9]reducestheoveralltemperature
