Languageisonlyavehicletoexpressourthoughts.GodexpressedHistruthinwordsofmanylanguages.His
thoughts,conceptsandprinciplesformanandHimselfareexpressedthroughlanguage.Wedonotknowwhat
kindoflanguageAdamandEveortheirimmediatedescendentsused.

ThesameGodwhospoketoAdam(whateverlanguagethiswas,somebelieveisHebrew.Ifso,itwasnotthe
Hebrewspokentoday)alsointroducedtheotherlanguagestoAdamsdescendants.Gen.11:1:Nowthewhole
earthhadonelanguageandonespeech.V:69AndtheYahwehsaid,Indeedthepeopleareoneandtheyallhave
onelanguage,andthisiswhattheybegintodonownothingthattheyproposetodowillbewithheldfromthem.
Come,letUsgodownandthereconfusetheirlanguage,thattheymaynotunderstandoneanother'sspeech.So
theLORDscatteredthemabroadfromthereoverthefaceofalltheearth,andtheyceasedbuildingthecity.
ThereforeitsnameiscalledBabel,becausethereYahwehconfusedthelanguageofalltheearthandfromthere
theLORDscatteredthemabroadoverthefaceofalltheearth.

Someclaimtheselanguageswereoncepureandthencorruptedandnowpaganized.ButtheScripturestates
therewasonlyonelanguageanditwasGodthatcausedmantohavenumerousotherlanguages.Itbecame
confusionbecauseeachdidnotknowwhattheotherwassaying,theynolongercouldcommunicatewithone
anotherastheyhadbeforewhentheywereunitedinbuildingthetower.FromtheScripturewewouldhaveto
considertheEnglishtodayasapaganlanguage.SowhenSacrednameadherentshaveGodsCorrectnamein
theirownBiblesitmakesitallthemoreinexcusableknowingthattheHolynameismixedpurposelywith
whattheycategorizeasapaganlanguage.TheydoreadtheEnglishjustlikeanyoneelse.Thefactthattheyneed
todealwithisthattheoriginalHebrewlanguagewouldalsobeincludedascorrupted,asitcamethroughthis
changefromGenesis.WeknowwhatlanguageMosesusedtoconveyittousthousandsofyearslater,Hebrew.
ThisHebrewisnottheexactsamethatwehavetoday.EveniftheHebrewweretheoriginallanguageof
mankindnoonereallyspeaksthissameancientHebrew,neitheristhebiblewritteninit.TheHebrewtodayis
differentfromtheoriginalpaleoHebrewalphabetthattheancientsused.Shouldwethenrejectthecurrent
MasoreticBiblebecauseitisnottheoriginalHebrew?(Remembervowelsareaddedtothewritingslater).On
thisalone,theirstrictconceptoflanguagesisonshakyground.WedofindJobwholivedintheAbrahamic
periodasGodsfriend,hecertainlywasnotspeakingHebrew.WecanassumethatAbrahamwasnotspeaking
thesameHebrewastheydotodayeither!

JacobMeyerandmanyothersclaimthatHebrewisthelanguageofheavenandthattheHebrewnamesof
YahwehandYahshuaaremandatedasabsolutelyessentialforsalvation.Hebrewgoesbacktothetimeof
Abraham.Thequestionis,didthepatriarchimportitfromHaranorfinditinPalestine?Thepatriarchsevidently
usedanAramdialectinMesopotamia,butwhentheycameintoCanaantheyadoptedalocalCanaanitedialect
thatwasnotidenticalwiththestandardspeechofthesedentaryCanaanites,asmaybelinguistically
demonstrated(W.F.Albright,FromtheStoneAgetoChristianity,p.182).TheCanaaniteoriginoftheHebrew
languageareattestedbybothUgariticandPhoenicianhistory.NumbersofimportantCanaaniteinscriptions
havebeenrecovered,notablytheSarcophagusofAhiramofByblos,eleventhcenturyB.C.LaterPhoenician
inscriptionsfromCyprus,Sardinia,Carthage,andothercoloniesoftheMediterraneanshowtheCanaanite
affinitiesofHebrew.TheGezerCalendar(c.925B.C.)writteninperfectclassicalHebrew,followedbythe
MoabiteStone(c.850B.C.)writteninthelanguageofMoab,whichwascloselyakintoHebrew,aswellaslater
inscriptionsfromSamariafromthetimeofJeroboamIIhelptotracethedevelopmentofHeb.asaclosely
alignedCanaanitedialect.(fromNewUnger'sBibleDictionary)F.F.Bruce,oneofthemorerespectedBiblical
languageexpertsstatesthatHebrewwasadialectofthePhoenicianlanguagespokeninnumerousadjacent
lands.ItwasamanmadelanguagewhichbySacredNamedefinitionisofapaganorigin,itisnotthetongueof
heaven.

TheIndoEuropeanlanguagefamily,hasninemajorbranches:IndoIranian,Baltic,Slavic,Armenian,Greek,
Albanian,Celtic,RomanceorItalic,andGermanic.

TheEnglishlanguageisassumedtohavethreeperiods.OldEnglishextendsfromaboutA.D.450,thetimeof
theAngloSaxoninvasionsofBritain,to1066,thedateoftheNormanConquest.MiddleEnglishcontinuesto

aboutthemiddleofthe15thcentury,andModernorNewEnglishrunsfromthentothepresent.

TheGermaniclanguagesbrokeawayfromotherIndoEuropeanlanguagesbefore500B.C.,formingaclearly
distinguishableandindependentgroupofcloselyrelateddialects,usuallyreferredtoasProtoGermanic.Itwas
theLatinvocabularyandgrammarthathadextensiveinfluencedtheGermaniclanguages.

TheScriptureinotherlanguages

TheOldLatinVersionsdatefromsecondtofourthcenturies(mostlylater).TheLatinVulgatewascompletedby
St.Jeromeinabouttheyear405A.D.ThereareSyriacVersionsdatingbetweenfourthandseventhcenturies.
TheseincludethePeshetta,Palestinian,PhiloxenianandHarclean,allofwhichareGreekdialectswhichdiffer
fromthecommonKoinethattheNewTestamentwaswrittenin.TherearealsoCopticversions(thirdandfourth
centuries),Gothic(fourth),ArmenianandGeorgian(fifth),Ethiopic(sixth)andothers.Theoldestsurviving
GermanicliterarytextfragmentsofaBibletranslationmadebyUlfilas,bishopoftheWestGoths(d.c.385),
waswritteninGothic.ThepreservedfragmentsofanEastGothicmanuscriptofthetranslationfromthe6th
centuryarereferredtoastheCodexargenteus(silverbook).SincetheGothshadnowrittenlanguage,Ulfilas
tooktheGreekuncialalphabet,addedtoitafewLatinandrunicletters,andthuscreatedanalphabetforhis
translation.

Theexistingbiblicalmanuscripts(withthepossibleexceptionofMatthew)tendtofollowtheSeptuagint
translation,andnottheMasoreticHebrew.RememberthatthistranslationwasusedinJesus'daybytheJews.
Thevolumeofcodexes,manuscripts,andfragmentsofthegospelsareastronomicalinnumbercomparedtothe
GreekorLatinClassics.YetcuriouslynotoneearlymanuscriptisinHebrew.

ThewordofGodintheGREEK

TheGreeklanguagewasspreadbyAlexandertheGreatafterhedefeatedthePersianempire323B.C.Dueto
AlexandersconquestGreekbecametheinternationallanguage.In250B.C.theHebrewScriptureswere
translatedtoGreekthatbecamethedominantlanguageofIsraelandtheeasternworldatthetimeofChrist.The

Septuagint(Greek)translationoftheOldTestamentwasdoneforGreekspeakingJewsinAlexandriaEgypt
duringthereignofPtolmeyPhiladelphiaIVofEgypt.ThePentateuchwasfirsttranslated,latertherestofthe
OldTestamentbookswereaddedtothetranslation.LateronmanyoftheJewsweremultilingualspeakingat
leasttwodifferentlanguages,oneofwhichwasGreek.LongbeforethetimeofJesus,intheintertestament
periodbetweentheOldandNewTestaments,theJewsstoppedusingHebrewastheireverydaylanguage.Itwas
usedintheSynagoguesaswasAramaicwastheircommontongue,theydidcontinuetoreadtheScripturesin
Hebrewinthetemple,butnotexclusively.TherabbiscontinuedtouseHebrewintheirreligiouspractices(the
Mishnah,thebookoflawiswritteninHebrew).TheHebrewlanguageastheeverydaylanguageoftheJews
wasreplacedbytheAramaic.

Morethan300yearslaterafterAlexandertheGreat,theNewTestamentbegantobewritteninthecommon
languageofGreekratherthantheAramaicwhichJesusmostlyspoke.Itwastheapostleswhopennedor
oversawthewritingoftheNewTestamentBecausesomeonespeaksthislanguageorusesGodsnamefromit
doesnotmakethemapagan.OtherwisewewouldhavetoconcedeJesusandtheapostleswerepagan,sincethey
spoketheGreeklanguageaswellasHebrewandAramaic.Thefirst7deaconsofthechurchallhadGreek
namesshowingtheywerefromtheDiasporaandimmigratedtothelandofIsrael.MarkandLukearenot
HebrewnamesnoristhereaequivalentfortheirthenamesinHebrew.ThereisnorecordofanyAramaicor
HebrewnameforAndrew.ManywordsintheNewTestamentaretransliterationsfromtheAramaic.Peter's

TheapostlescommunicatedthenameofYeshuainGreek(Yesou).Thiswastheinfluencefromtheapostles.But
nowwehaveotherswithaprivateinterpretationofthetheirwritings.EventhebookofHebrewswaswrittenin
GreektotheJewswarningthemnottogobackinJudaism.Butsomeignorethisandhavestartedwhole
movementswithholdingtheirhandsonbothcovenants.OneofthemainargumentsoftheSacredName
MovementisthatnonHebrewlanguagesareactuallypagan,thereforetheycometoconclusionofHebrewonly.

WhatdoestheNewTestamentsay?Acts2:4:AndtheywereallfilledwiththeHolyGhost,andbeganto
speakwithothertongues,astheSpiritgavethemutterance.Peterspokewiththeotherapostles.

OnthefeastofShavout(Pentecost)thegiftoftongueswerespokeninmanydifferentdialectstothoseJews
fromvariousregionsgatheredinJerusalemfortheFeast.Whatisinterestingtonoteisthatofthe16to17
dialects,Hebrewisnotmentioned.WhynotifthisisthesacredlanguageofGod?Itstatestheyheardthe
praisesofGod,makingthepointthattheyallheardthepraisesintheirowndialect.MeaningthatGodsword
andHisnamepronouncedwasnotYahwehtoall.Otherwisehowcouldtheyunderstand?ItwasYahweh(the
HolySpirit)whogavethedisciplestheabilitytospeakinotherlanguagesthatwerenotHebrew.Areweto
believethelanguagesthattheSpiritgaveutterancetowerepaganlanguagesthatwerenottobeused!

ThisprovesthatJewishpeoplecommonlyspokemorethantheHebrewlanguageatthetimeofChrist.InActs2
atthetimeofPentecost:v.5AndthereweredwellingatJerusalemJews,devoutmen,outofeverynationunder
heaven.V.6becausethateverymanheardthemspeakinhisownlanguage.Thepeoplegroupsthatspoke
theselanguageswere:Galilaeans,Parthians,Medes,Elamites,Mesopotamia,Judaea,Cappadocia,Pontus,Asia,
PhrygiaandPamphylia,Egypt,partsofLibyaaboutCyreneandstrangersofRome,Jewsandproselytes,Cretes
andArabians.InterestingthatHebrewwasnotoneofthelanguages.Whyisitmissingifitissupposedtobe
thesacredlanguage.

ThereasonthesepeoplewerehearingandunderstandingintheirownlanguagesisthesamereasonthatGodhas
madeitpossibleforHisWordtobeprotectedandtranslatedforallpeopletoreadtodayinthedifferent
languages.

Acts2:12:WedohearthemspeakinourtonguesthewonderfulworksofGod.ThisisproofthatGodisnot
limitedtoacertainlanguageorpronunciation.CertainlytheyspokeGod'snameandwordsintheirown
languages.

TheNewTestamentiswritteninKoineGreek(CommonGreek),therewere4basiclanguagesusedintheNew
Testamenttimes.Hebrew,Aramaic,GreekandLatin,ofwhichGreekwasthedominantlanguage.Wefindthe
inscriptionoverChristasbeingtheKingoftheJewswaswritteninGreek,HebrewandLatin.Itwasa
proclamationtoallpeoplethenandtoday.

JesusinstructsthedisciplesinLuke24:47:andthatrepentanceandremissionofsinsshouldbepreachedinHis
nametoallnations,beginningatJerusalem.Whatlanguagewouldbethemostappropriatetofulfillthe
command?ItwouldbethetheninternationallanguageofGreek.RememberGreekspeakingJewswereinthe
primitiveChurchatJerusalem.(Acts6:1).JohntheapostlewritesinRev.9:11:Andtheyhadaskingoverthem
theangelofthebottomlesspit,whosenameinHebrewisAbaddon,butinGreekhehasthenameApollyon.
WhystatethisifthereistobeonlyonelanguageforallofScripture?Becausethereisnot!

TheGreekfamilymanuscripts

Theoldest(130A.D.)wasafragmentofJohn.TheoldestandnearcompletecopiesoftheBibleare:The
VaticanusfamilyManuscript.ThisisintheVaticanwithbothOldandNewTestamentswithonlyafewpages
missing.

RonRhodesnotestherearealsosome86,000quotationsfromtheearlychurchfathersandseveralthousand
Lectionaries(churchservicebookscontainingScripturequotationsusedintheearlycenturiesofChristianity).

WhatisinterestingandsignificantaboutthesenumerousquotesoftheNewTestamentisthatyoucoulddestroy
allthemanuscriptsoftheNewTestament,anddestroyalltheNewTestamentsinexistenceintheworld,andyou
couldreproduceallbut1117versescanbeproducedofthewholeNewTestamentfromtheirwritings.For
exampleIgnatius(70110A.D.)quotesfrom15ofthebooksoftheNewTestament.Yetsacrednamegroups
wouldjustaswellhavetheGreekmanuscriptsdestroyedandhavenowitnessatallforustoday.Doesthismean
noonewassaveduntiltheYashuangroupscamealong?Obviouslyfromtheirpointofviewthisisso.Notonly
doweemphaticallydenythis,butthefactsshowthepeoplethatprotectedandcopiedtheNewTestamentforus
tohavetodaywerenotnecessarilyJewishbutGentiles.NosacrednameadherentwouldevenhavetheNew
TestamentrevelationifnotfortheGentilehandsandlanguageitwaswrittenin.

SirDavidDalrympleonceaskedhimselfthequestion,SupposethattheNewTestamenthadbeendestroyed,
andeverycopyofitlostbytheendofthe3rdcentury,couldithavebeencollectedtogetheragainfromthe
writingoftheFathersofthesecondandthirdcenturies?Hisanswerwas...asIpossessedalltheexisting
worksoftheFathersofthesecondandthirdcenturies,Icommencedtosearch,anduptothistimeIhavefound

Greek.SowhatarewetomakeofthesehistoricalfactsinlightoftheSacrednameclaims,ignorethem?

ThepersecutionsthattookplaceinthereignofEmperorTrajan(98117A.D.)andotherRomanEmperorsthat
followed,booksofscriptureweredestroyedandburnedwherevertheywerefound.Inanefforttopreserve
scripture,bookswereburiedandhidden,Andmanyhavebeendiscoveredtoday.Soifanypersonattemptedto
corruptthetextorinserttheirownparticularpointofviewintothescripture,theserecentdiscoverieswould
haverevealedanyalterations.Butnonethathavethenewfoundpapyrustestifytothis,thatthetextweare
usingtodayisessentiallythesamethatwasusedbytheearlychurch.

AngeloB.Trainaspenttwentyyearsonthistranslation/revisionprojectanddidTheHolyNameBiblewhichwas
thefirstofmanySacredNamebibles.Trainaspublishingcompany,TheScriptureResearchAssociation,
publishedtheNewTestamentin1950.TrainasubstitutedtheHebrewnameYahwehforKurios(LordinGreek
texts)intheNewTestamentquotationsfromtheOldTestament.ThiswastheverywordthattheJewsusedwhen
theytranslatedtheHebrewOldTestamentintotheGreek250yearsbeforetheMessiahcame.Whywouldhe
needtoretranslateitbackoveragainifthiswasacceptedmanyyearsbefore?Anyaccuratetranslationworthits
saltmustbetakenfromtheoriginallanguagestheywerewritteninthetext(eitherancientHebreworKoine
(common)Greek).TotranslateitFromtheGreektoEnglishandbacktoHebrewisnotscholarly,honestor
accurate.Whatmanuscriptsdidheorothersuse,sincetheancientNewTestamentisnotfoundinHebrew.The
earlychurchwritingsshowtheywerequotingtheGreekandthereisnoproofthatanyonepronouncedhisname
inHebrewthatspokeanotherlanguage.

TheyreplacedthenameofJesuswithasupposedaccurateHebrewname.SomeoftheseLeadersobviously
believedtheyarecalledbyGodtocorrectthesocallederrorsintheScriptures,whichtheythemselvescannot
allagreeon.Asktensacrednamegroupsandtheywillallhaveadifferentangleonthename.Theseerrors
andtheircorrectionscomefromapresuppositionofdoctrinefavoredbytheirownfavoriteBibleteacher,reviser
orrevelator.HowdidthesesacrednamegroupscometobelievethatGodchosethemtocorrecttheChurchand
correcttheWordofGod?ThesepeopleareJewishwannabe'sthinkingthereissomespiritualadvantageto
speakingtheHebrew.GodisnotinterestedinmakingJewishChristianswhospeakhisnameonlyinHebrew.
HeistakingpeoplefromeverytongueandtribeandmakingthebodyofChrist,themiddlewallofpartitionis
brokendownassacredscripturetellsusinEphesians2.Doesthismeanwedispensewithlearningthelanguage
ortheHebrewcultureno.Itcanenhanceourunderstanding,butitshouldnotbetheendalltoones
understandingtheScripture.

WhataboutZeph.3:9:ForthenIwillrestortothepeoplesapurelanguagethattheymayallcalluponthename
oftheLORD,toservehimwithoneaccord.IsthisHebreworcurrentlyEnglish?Whatisthetimingforthis
Scripture?TheMillennium.Intheselastdays(Englishiscurrentlytheuniversallanguageofthe
world).Whateverlanguagethisis(itcouldbeHebrewsinceGodisspeakingtotheHebrewpeople)ithasnot
takenplaceyet,foritisafterthejudgementofthenations.TheLordinHiswisdomhaschosentheEnglish
languagetopresentHisWordtotheworld.Itiswrittenplain,simple,andeasilycomprehendedwordsofHis
gospeltotheworldtoallclassesandcultures.JustasGodchosetheGreeklanguageatthestartoftheChurch
whichwasgoingtotheGentiles,HegavetheEnglishlanguageattheendoftime.Goddoesnotwantthis
legalismtodividehisbody.YouhavebeenseveredfromChrist,youwhoareseekingtobejustifiedbylaw
youhavefallenfromgrace...Youwererunningwellwhohinderedyoufromobeyingthetruth?(Gal.5:4,7).

GreekphilosophersandpoetswhichhelearnedunderGamalielintheJewishschool(Yeshiva).

EvenPaulwhowrotetheNewTestamentasaJewwritesJesusnameinGreekasIesounnotYashua.InRom.10
PaulwriteswhoevercallsuponthenameoftheLord(kurios)notYashuaorYahwehwillbesaved.Thisisa
referencetotheHebrewtextinJoel2.YashuaandIesoonisthesamenameofthesamepersonintwodifferent
languages.Paulwaswellawarethatitsnotthepronunciationofthenamethatsaves,butthepersonwhoisGod.

namePaulinLatin(Roman)isfromtheLatinPaulus.Heintentionallymadehimselfknownbythisnameto
reachtheGreekspeakingpeoplehewasamissionaryto.Insodoinghewouldlikewisechangethenameof
thesavoirtotheirlanguageaswell.Acts21:37and40recordsPaul'sabilitytospeakinboththeGreekand
Hebrewlanguage.TheculturetheJewswerein(notbychoice)wasRoman.EveryonespokeintheGreek
languageandfortheJewstosurvivetheyneededtodosoaswell.TheytranslatedtheHebrewOldTestament
intoGreek250yearsbeforeChrist,showingthiswaspartoftheirculture,theyspoketheGreeklanguage
otherwisetheywouldnotbeabletodothetranslation.ThosewhocontinueintheOldTestamentlaw(whichis
calledlegalismbyRabbiPaulinGalatians)saidtheyhaveblinderson(2Cor.3:14).Theirmindswereblinded:
foruntilthisdayremainsthesameveiluntakenawayinthereadingoftheOldTestamentwhichveilisdone
awayinChrist.ChristcommissionedtheJewishapostlestogotothewholeworld,notjusttheirownpeople
whospokeHebrew.Todosonecessitatesspeakinginotherlanguages.

Speakingtothegentilesintheirownlanguage

LookingattheScripturewithoutthebiasofcertainmenwefindthatJesusandtheApostlesKnewGreekaswell
asHebrew,theyweremultilingual.SoTheycouldspeaktotheJewsinHebrewandtheGreeks(gentiles)in
Greek.

Matthew4:1516remindsusthatJesusstartedHisministryafterJohnwascastintoprison,fromGalilee,which
wasknowntobepopulatednotwithJews,butGentiles,beyondJordan,GalileeoftheGentiles.Yethewentto
theJewsspecifically.ItisunrealistictothinkthattheydidnotspeakGreekalongwithHebrew.John7:35:
ThensaidtheJewsamongthemselves,whitherwillhego,thatweshallnotfindhim?Willhegountothe
dispersedamongtheGreek,andteachtheGreeks?MostGreekswerenotfamiliarwithHebrewbutviceversa.

AgainwefindinActs17:1631theApostlePaulspoketothenativesofAthens,howelsecouldthisbedoneif
notinGreek.WeknowfromScripturethattheApostleknewanddidspeakGreek(Acts21:37).Infact,inthe
narrativeofActs17PaulreadtheinscriptioninthelanguageoftheGreekpeople.Ifhespoketothepeople
aboutit,itwasobviouslyinGreek!NeitherwasPaulrestrictedbyaninscriptionthatusedtheGreek
wordtheos,atranslationoftheHebrewequivalentforGod(elohim).Hepreachedthemessageofsalvationto
thepeopleofAthensusingthetermtheosreferringtothetrueGod.Hewasnotobligatednordoesitrecordhe
usedYahweh.

ImaginehimwritingaletterinHebrewtoletssayTitus,andhegetsitandaskswhatdoesitsaysincehedoesnt
speakorreadHebrew.Thelettersattimeswerewrittentoindividualsbutintendedtoguideandinstructthe
church,sotheywouldhavetobereadtoall.

TheHebrewOldTestamentwasnotmainScripturelanguageoftheJewsatJesustime.TheTargumimandthe
LXXwastheprimaryversionoftheOldTestamentamongChristiansofthefirstcentury.Wecanreasonably
concludethatPeterwaswellversedintheLXX.JamesusedtheLXXaswell(Acts15:1418)andwritestothe
Jewsinthediasporawhichmeanstheywereinotherlandsincorporatedintheirculturetheyneededtospeakthe
languages.TheSeptuagintwasfavorablyquotedbytheNewTestamentwritersovertheMasoretic.

OneofthepointsoftheNewTestamentbeingwritteninGreekisthatthepartitionbetweenJew'sandGentiles
wasbrokendownsowecouldallbecomeonenewmaninChrist.UnliketheOldTestamentthatwaswritten
predominantlyinHebrewtoawholenationthatspokeHebrew.TheNewTestamentwaswritteninGreek
bringingGodskingdomtothewholeGreekspeakingGentileworld,aswellastheJews.Thepurposewasthat
wemightallbecomeonepeopleunderGod.ThepartitionthatdividedJewfromgentilehasbeentakendown.
Thewholebible(boththeoldandnew)hasbeentranslatedintoEnglishfortheEnglishspeakingworld(both
JewsandGentile)andithasbeenretranslatedintootherethnictonguesforallspeakingpeople.Otherwisehow
canoneexplainRev7:910:Agreatmultitudewhichnoonecouldnumber,ofallnations,tribes,peoples,and
tongues,standingbeforethethroneandbeforetheLamb,clothedwithwhiterobes,withpalmbranchesintheir
hands,andcryingoutwithaloudvoice,saying,SalvationbelongstoourGodwhositsonthethrone,andtothe
Lamb!Theyreceivedsalvationbecausetheyheardthegospelintheirnativetongue.Godisabletoprovidethe
meansforalltohaveHisWord.WhymakeamountainoutofoneparticularnameofGod.IsitnotallGods

LogicalandBiblicalProofsofJewsbeingmultilingual

Mt.28theyweresenttothenationsbutnoneofthemspokeHebrew.GodneversaidHebrewwastheonly
language,andtheymustlearnthatlanguagetospeaktoGodorsayhisnameinHebrew.Acoupleofcenturies
beforeJesuswasborntheJewstranslatedYHVHintotheGreekwordKurios=Lord.Someclaimtherewasno
integrityatthetimeanditwaswrongtotranslatethenameofGodintotheGreek.Thiswasthelanguageused
justaswhentheJewswereincaptivityinDaniel'stime.Theywereinaforeignlandandlearnedtospeak
anotherlanguage.ItwasAramaicthatsomeoftheOldTestamentwaswrittenin.SomepassagesintheOld

WhydidtheJewshavetheSeptuagintiftheydidnotspeakintheGreeklanguage?TosaytheGreekis
corruptedisequivalenttosaythattheHebrewmaybealsosinceitwasthesamescribesthatkepttheHebrew
ScripturesandtranslateditoverfromtheHebrewtotheGreek.WhywouldanyoftheNewTestamentwriters
writeexclusivelyinHebrewiftheyweregoingtoreachthegentilepeopleintheworld.IntheOldTestamentit
wasHebrewbecausethatwasthelanguageofthenationofwhichGodwasgivingrevelationto.TheNew
TestamentsaysthegraceofGodhasappearedtoallmen.NotjusttheJews.

WhenJesushadaconversationwithPilatewhatlanguagedidhespeak?PilatedidnotspeakHebrewheloathed
themandcertainlywouldnottaketimetolearntheirlanguage.WhenPaulbroughtthegospeltotheGreeksdid
heteachtheminHebrew.Matt.1:23:andtheyshallcallHisnameImmanuel,whichistranslated,Godwith
us.ThisisHebrewbutitistranslatedoverintotheGreek,Matthewhadthelicensetotranslateitover.

Godtakespeopleoutofeverytribeandtongueinthetribulation,notjusttheHebrewtongue.ItisclearthatGod
chosetorevealHisWordincertainlanguagesandcertainculture,atcertaintimes.Andlearningthelanguages
andculturecanbeadvantageousforamorecompleteunderstandingofwhatGodhassaid.ThisHoweverinno
wayendorsesthattheHebrewlanguageistobespokenorreadexclusively.

Sotosumallthisup:JesussaidHewastheAlphaandtheOmega,thisshould
bethe(beginning)and(end)answertotheirargumentsonGod's
