PART 4 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT

Section 4.5. Civil And Structural Works
Sub-Section 4.5.5. Concrete Work

Waterproof concrete and mortar shall be used where shown on the

drawing. Waterproof shall be by the use of a reliable and approved
brand of admixture. The admixture shall be used strictly in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

4.5.5.1.7. Strength, Limiting, Proportioning And Mixing Requirements

a. Grades Of Concrete

Applicable grades are shown on the design drawings. The concrete

shall have the minimum compressive strengths shown below:

Goncrete Compressive Strength

MIl.JIMUM
CLASS COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
(Kg/cm2)

c50 500
c30 300
c25 250
c15 150

This value above shall be tested by a cylindrical compressive strength

method.

Unless otherwise specified, concrete of the various classes shall be

used as follows:

Class C50 : For pre-stressed concrete structures (eg, spun piles,

sheet piles)".
Class C30 : For important structures (chimney windshield
structure and foundation, T/G pedestal, jetty and
trestle structure, steam turbine building and
foundation, boiler structure foundation, chimney
foundation and CW pump house).
Class C25 : For all concrete work in the common buildings and
structures of the power plant, unless othenrvise
specified.
class c15 : For lean concrete as specified and for un-reinforced
concrete or othenruise noted.

Polypropylene fiber with 0.905 g/ml specific gravity and of 3.5

KN/mm2 modulus young shall be used for all importani structures. lts
quantity per cubic concrete shall be based on the manufacture,s
printed recommendation
