A group of computers connected together is called network. Two or more computers connected together or
linked together for sharing information, resources.

(2) What is the difference between client/server and peer to peer network? [ /03]

Client/server: single powerful computer acting as server connected to multiple computers called clients. It
can be more than one server on the network. Manages the network and resources.
Peer to Peer: all the workstations have equivalent capabilities and responsibilities. Independent, individual.
No control of server.
(3) Name different types of Networks also give at least one example of each?

Difficult to identify problems.
Terminators required on both ends.

Ring Topology

Advantages
Easier to detect fault.
Less cable required.

Disadvantages
Expensive and difficult to install, adding removing device/workstation difficult.
Failure in any cable or device breaks the loop, entire network down.

A chart is a graphical representation of information. A chart often makes it easier to understand the data in a
worksheet because users can easily pick up patterns and trends illustrated in the chart that are otherwise
difficult to see.

(3) What is sorting? How many types of sorting are possible? [ /02]

Data when entered in sheet may not be arranged in an order. To arrange data we can make it in ascending or
descending order, this physical arrangement of data in ascending or descending order is called sorting.
Two types of sorting available, ascending and descending.
