Reflection on Exhibition of Major Project

On 25th of May 2017, my classmates and I who are the students of Thinking Skills subject
(PEC 100) had an exhibition as our major project. We exhibit our 3D model which we created as
a solution for our issue which is Global Warming. The exhibition was started at 9 AM and ended
at 3 PM. There were 2 lecturers evaluating our works as we present the 3D model to them. We
chose Global Warming as our issue because it is one of the major problem our planet faces and
it is affecting us directly and indirectly. So, this exhibition is a suitable platform to inculcate moral
values in students and other people to love nature and take initiative to preserve them instead of
chopping them off.

Through this exhibition, I gained an array of skills and experiences which I will always
treasure. The skills which I gained were critical thinking, creative thinking, teamwork skills and
communication skills. By infusing all these skills in me, I have increased my self-development into
more empathy and matured human being. I have realized that I will only gain those skills and self-
development by participating in this kind of activity.

One of the skills which I have gained from this exhibition is critical thinking where I have
to think critically to solve the problem we chose which is Global Warming. I have suggested one
solution to my groupmates and it was accepted by them but we need more solutions for the issue
and we need to think out of the box. This is when my critical thinking being tested as I tried my
best to think deeply as I can to come up with more solutions. Finally, I have managed to find the
solutions after two days. Besides that, I have also used my creative thinking skills to create the
3D model which is the miniature of housing area. I have used my creativity together with my
groupmates as to how to design the housing area by implementing the solutions we came up
with. I have decorated, painted and drew some of the parts of the model by using my creativity.

Furthermore, I have also developed teamwork skills through the preparation of exhibition.
This is when I work together with my groupmates to complete the 3D model. Everyone has helped
me to complete the model and I truly appreciate them for not letting me down by not helping to do
the model. I have also helped my groupmates whenever they face difficulties in doing something
and we help each other. That is what teamwork is. Besides that, I have learnt to be patient as this
project tested my patience level as I am not a person who can sit still for so long. This is when I
had to sit and cut all 14 housing templates and fold them into a house. I took long time to do that
as I was bored doing the same thing again and again. But I insisted to do it as I want to complete
the task that was given to me without leaving it undone halfway. That helped to be patient and
complete the task given and taught me not to give up on something which Im about to achieve.

Apart from that, I have also developed communication skills where I presented the
statistics of 30 greenest cities on Earth to the lecturer who evaluates our work. My groupmates
presented their ideas because we segregated our task equally. When it was my turn to present, I
was able to communicate well because I practiced my speech beforehand and that was the
reason why my speech was smooth. I have also been spontaneous when I was posed by
questions from the lecturer and I did answer the questions spontaneously. Presentations tend to
improve my communication skills because as I practice it always and the speech gets better.

In conclusion, I feel very proud of myself because I have actually come up with solutions
for the global warming issue together with my groupmates as I love mother nature so much and I
am keen to preserve it. I feel delighted because the skills which I mentioned above got improved
and I get better at those skills through this exhibition. I hope that this kind of exhibition should be
implemented next time as well so that it helps to create awareness to the people out there.
