General Information for Principals:

Action Plans are tools to assist NCS; the schools and its teachers in purposefully planning
of instruction with the vision to increase student learning related to the goal.
Principals are expected to work with their teachers to develop and monitor teacher-made
action plans. This is one part of the building level action plans which principals are
required to prepare and submit.
Develop a school-based action plan for each goal and subgoal. How will the principal
oversee the improvement process at their respective school? How will the principal and
the School Improvement Committee work together to track implementation of goals and
assessment of goals?

NCS District Goal #2: Math Computation

Select 1 Objective to develop

Objective 2.1

Students will apply knowledge and gain skills in computation that are relevant to their
particular learning experience.

School Level Action: Implement the Math It program

Teacher Action: Introduce the program and document that students are participating in
various strategies to improve computation accuracy and time.

Students will use a monthly Math It calendar to record the number of minutes they practice
math computation. Sources may vary and may include texts, apps, websites, or flashcards.

Students work on improving their computation skills, write down the number of minutes they
practice, then parents sign the calendar and return it to the teacher at the end of each month.

When students reach the goal set for them, they achieve a reward. The class with the highest
% of students turning in a calendar reaching their goal may also be rewarded.

Program Assessment: Computation scores will improve on STAR Math tests, standardized tests,
and in math class.
