1.1. Overview
The purpose of Integrated Project Management (IPM) is to establish and manage the
project engineering activities into a coherent and defined process that is tailored from the
<Company_Name> standard processes.

1.2. Goals
The goals of this policy are to ensure that:
1. A project's defined processes are established at project startup by tailoring standard
<Company_Name> processes.
2. Projects are managed using their defined processes.
3. A project's defined processes help to establish the work environment for the project.
4. Stakeholders in the project perform their tasks in a coordinated and collaborative manner.

1.3. Scope
This policy applies to all <Company_Name> system and software development projects.

1.3.1. Exemptions
Projects with less than 750 anticipated billable hours are exempt from this policy.

1.4. Policy
1. Each project shall develop and document its defined process by tailoring the organization's
standard processes and through the use of organizational process assets.
2. Each project shall document deviations from the organization's standard processes and
seek approval from the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG).
3. Projects shall be managed in accordance with their defined processes; activities on the
project will be performed in accordance with the project's defined processes.
4. Project stakeholders shall work together in a timely, coordinated manner to further
project work and goals, as directed by the project manager.

5. Projects shall contribute to the organization's process asset database through the
collection of measurement data, lessons learned, best practices, and other items.

1.5. Standard Practices


<Company_Name> projects are to follow the standard business practices for IPM as
outlined in the <Company_Name> Project Management Process or a tailored version of
that process.

1.6. Responsibilities
Project managers are responsible for implementing this policy.
The Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) is responsible for implementing this
policy across the organization and for managing the processes engendered by this policy.
