Criterion D: Reflection Kitty Chin 10 Trust

Students will have to evaluate the ATL skills demonstrated; identify and justify goals that
were set prior the lesson and suggest ways to enhance further learning and performance.

ATL skill Evidence

Throughout the assessment, I believe I have demonstrated thinking skills through my


planning, this is because I analysed and thought about which few strategies and
tactics I could perform throughout the game with my opponents. Ive also analysed
my research on when each of the different strategies should be used and how it may

help benefit my team. Ive used some of the strategies that I found to form them into
a plan that could be used for my part when were in the attacking formation. However,
this can still be improved by completing a better analysis for my game plans and
explain why it is effective.
I have demonstrate my use of social skills throughout the assessment. This was
shown in between each rounds when my partner and I were having a brief talk at
what was going on and how each of us can improve. Moreover, there werent any

conflicts between us and we collaborate well with each other better. This can still be
improved by discussing beforehand rather than discussing our game plan right when
we were about to start the game.

Throughout the assessment I think I did well at communication. This is because, Ive
used communication skills with my partner to help each other out and to make sure
that we are all aware of the current situation and wouldnt forget the next step of the

partner and I were discussing about the game plan, roles, as well as tactics and
strategies. However this could be improved if there no miscommunications between
my partner and I
I have demonstrated my use of self-management skills throughout the process of
creating the game plan. Ive used this skill during the planning because every week
when Im modifying my game plan to make it more effective for my team. Ive also

management Therefore, throughout this process I have used my reflecting skills to help me modify
skills my plan. During this process, I have also been reflecting on which techniques I should
focus more on working for the following week in order to have a better improvement.
This could still be improved if I had extended my game plan a little and added more
strategies and improvements.

Lastly, I had demonstrated research skills through my research and analysis on the
tactics and strategies used in badminton along with coming up with a game plan to
follow. I was also aiming to create a perfect game plan for badminton, which will
require a lot of research to be done so that my game plan would include a strategy or
Research skills tactic that will be used in playing the game against my opponents. During this
process, I also have to research about each of the techniques and strategies people
use in most badminton games, therefore the strategies that I find for the game plan
will be relevant for the game with my opponents. This can also be improved by
completing more precise research and to investigate why it is important.
Game play at assessment

Team Formation 1. Defending - My partner and I started the game with the defending formation, which is
a side-by-side formation. The main reason of why we chose to do this at the start is
so that we can cover the full width of the doubles court, therefore, when our opponent
is returning the shuttlecock, we would have the court covered, but we will mainly use
this at the start of the game.
2. Attacking - My partner and I will later move to the next formation which is attacking, a
formation with one player in the rear-court, and the other player towards the front of
the court. We chose to use this formation later because attacking would mainly be
used throughout the round after the serve.
Roles Between my partner and I, weve set my role to being the forward player, and her as the
rear player. Since I react to my surroundings faster than my partner, weve decided on
having me to be the forward player mainly because I have to cover replies to the net or
mid-court. On the other hand, since my partner is physically stronger she would have a
higher possibility of returning the shuttlecock to our opponent whereas if I was in her
position there may be a risk of the shuttlecock not passing the net. Moreover, my
partners strengths are mainly based on strength, while mine are based on my reaction.

Tactic and Smash- Whenever the shuttlecock is high enough, the rear player (partner) she will
strategy smash it to the opponents therefore decreasing the chances of them being able to
return it.
Drive- cross court drive is when one opponent is covering the down the line shot and
the other is not in position to intercept.
Clear- When my partner and I are under pressure or out of position, and opponents are
too far forward or in each others way.
Defenders dilemma- my partner and I work together to maintain our attack, while my
partner smashes from the back, and I will intercepts any replies to the net or mid-court.

Analyze and The game plans that my partner and I have created has definitely benefited our team as
evaluate the a whole, mainly because before we had a game plan, we were all over the place and had
effectiveness of times when we paused thinking what we should do. However, with the help of our game
your game plans plan, we are able to return a majority of the shuttlecocks to our opponent. Aside from
that you have that, we were also able to perform different techniques and use more strategies for the
applied games.
Suggest ways to I believe I can definitely do a lot more to improve my future performance. Firstly, I would
improve future improve the range of techniques that I use, because even though I didnt use just 1
performance techniques throughout the game, I believe I can show my skills more by performing skills
such as drop shot, smash, etc. Something else I would improve my movement, even
though I have improved comparing to the first lesson, I believe there a lot more room for
improvement. This is because even though there were times where I ran from one side
of the court to another, there were also times where I did not move at all and resulted in
losing a point to the opponents.
