Marketing Strategy
The new 330C excavator introduces new innovations to improve Caterpillar hydraulic
excavators competitiveness. From their introduction, the 300 family excavators have been well
received by customers worldwide. The A Series machines initiated the 300 family tradition,
while the B Series successfully introduced new technologies and maintained that tradition. The
330C is the latest C Series model to be introduced following the successful introduction of the
320C, 322C, 325C and Small C Series excavators (307C 315C).
The increased power and flow result in higher performance characteristics that put the 330C at
the top of the 30 to 35 ton size class excavators. The 330C is equipped with the same cab as the
320C, 322C, and 325C, therefore, enjoys the same ease to operate and operator comfort that have
become the new industry benchmark.
The 330C can be configured with either standard or long undercarriage for added stability and
floatation. Coupled with the availability of multiple boom, stick and bucket options, the 330C
will continue to demonstrate excellent capability to handle variety of customer application needs.
With the Mass Excavation (ME) configuration, there is no other manufacturer that can produce

the same high bucket and stick cylinder forces. These higher forces allow the 330C to be capable
of carrying the largest buckets in its size class. The ME configuration is ideal for truck loading,
however, it is capable of carrying smaller capacity buckets or specialty work tools to brake into
very hard materials.
