Preface

.
.

In Allhs name, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise be to Allh, the Lord of all the worlds. Blessings and peace be upon the chief of prophets,
upon his family and all his companions.
The Islmic system of life covers all aspects of human life and through the noble Prophet

, Allh has provided complete guidance for all dimensions of human existence. One of the
important dimensions is Adjudication (qaz) between Muslims in their disputes and conflicts. Fair
adjudication being the basis for peace and well-being of society, this discipline has a high status in
society and also in the sphere of Islmic Fiqh and sciences. The supremacy of Judiciary has been
honored throughout human history. The job of Adjudication requires complete familiarity with the
texts on Adjudication and also training and practice for its real-life implementation.
An important responsibility of Mufts and 'Ulam is to provide Islmic guidance to people on new
and emerging issues facing the Ummah, and also to defend Islm by responding to various
questions and objections posed against it.
Initially, there was no organized arrangement for practical training in Islmic Adjudication in entire
India. When Muslim Personal Law Board decided to implement the Islmic Adjudication System
throughout the country, they felt the need for trained and learned scholars who could execute this
job professionally. From quite some time, informal training camps had been organized throughout
the country for the purpose and talented young scholars had been appointed in various Drul Qaz
wal Ift to train them in the academics, theory and practice of the discipline. However, the
establishment of Drul Qaz and Ift all over the country could not be accomplished by such
informal, unorganized approaches.
Hazrat Mauln Qz Mujhidul Islm Qsm (Allhs mercy be upon him) stepped in to fill this gap.
Allh had bestowed him with special wisdom and vision for promotion of His Deen. Allh had
selected him to serve not only the fields of Adjudication and Jurisconsultation but also all other
spheres and fields concerning Islm and Muslims. Allh had guided him to ofer great services in a
wide array of fields that included solving the emerging Fiqh-related issues, creating quality human
resources, and reforming the society and community on a large scale. He served as the Chief
Justice (Qzil Quzh) of Imrate Sharaiah and also as President of the all-inclusive All India Muslim
Personal Law Board. Prior to this, he had trained and mentored a group of young scholars in
researching and investigating solutions for emerging issues to enable them to give guidance to the

3
Ummah in the light of Qurn and Sunnah. He formalized this mentoring program by laying the
foundations of Islmic Fiqh Academy, India. To solve the social and national issues facing the
Ummah and to equip them with expert guidance on these matters, he established Mill Council
where he served as General Secretary till the end of his worldly life. He was also the mentor, patron
and chief of many other important organizations. In continuation of this spirit, he established the
institute AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation in Shawwl 1419 AH
(=Feb 1999) to train students in the fields of Adjudication and Jurisconsultation. The Mahad was to
work under the supervision of Imrate Sharaiah, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand, and was to run
under the patronage of Hazrat Mauln Sayyid Nizmuddn Shib (May his blessed life persist).
Hazrat Mauln Qz Mujahidul Islm Qsm stayed on as the President of AlMahad-ul l till the
end of his life. Shedding light on the purpose, importance and significance of AlMahad-ul l, he
wrote in its first introductory brochure:
From the day of its foundation, Imrate Sharaiah, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand has been
implementing the vision and thoughts of its founder Hazrat Mauln Abul Mahsin
Muhammad Sajjd. In this course, it has been training and preparing men of action,
equipping them with the ability to lead the Ummah in various spheres of life, and the
zeal to strive sincerely to keep the collective existence of the Ummah on straight course.
After the demise of Islmic social and political system, there were many spheres of
service and fields of action which had become buried Sunnah and forgotten custom.
Imrate Sharaiah had the privilege of reviving many of them, of re-introducing them to
the Ummah and of preparing capable men to carry them on. At a time when even the
blurred concepts of the system of Islmic Adjudication had died after the end of Islmic
rule in India, Imrate Sharaiahs determined efforts led to its revival.
One of the most important financial worships in Islm is Ushr. This too had got erased
out of the society to the extent that nobody would even hear its name anywhere.
Similarly, the collective payment and distribution of Zakh had got buried in the rubble
of time. Imrate Sharaiah had the honor of reintroducing each of them. Naqbat, the
system of community supervision and guidance established during the golden days of the
Prophet

too had died out. Imrate Sharaiah re-established the system
connecting the Ummah with its Ameer at grass-root level and consequently binding
together the entire Ummah on a large scale.
Then came the days of the fourth Ameere Shariat, Hazrat Mauln Minnatullh Rahmn
(Allhs mercy be upon him). Allh guided him to carry on in a more organized manner
and at a greater scale, the work Mauln Sajjd had started and bequeathed to him. This
legacy comprised mainly the work of creating men of action and the task of stringing
together the Ummah. He would keep talented youths under his direct supervision, then
nurture and mentor their way of thinking and moral values, lead them through higher

4
levels of academic and intellectual accomplishments and turn them into reputed men of
action. Mauln Minnatullh Rahmns first edict was aimed at expanding the reach of
Adjudication system of Imrate Sharaiah and at preparing capable Qzs to serve it. Soon
after his appointment as Ameer, a two-week Qz-training camp was organized under his
direction and supervision. Since then such camps continued to be organized regularly,
and the task of training went on. Just as he trained scholars in Adjudication, he also
trained them to do the challenging task of writing Fatw (juristic advice). He would ask
young scholars, teachers and professors of Fiqh and Hadth to find out solutions for
contemporary issues from the Qurn and Sunnah and would train them so they could
accomplish this.
For any constructive effort to persist through generations and to stay strong, utmost
effort must be made to ensure its continuity. It is paramount that the work of past,
present and future stay inter-connected and keep progressing without a break. If the
future generations are not made into capable inheritors of their elders accomplishments,
the grand work comes to an abrupt halt. The Qurnic verse ( And
others who have not yet joined the Sahbah 1) compliments people who had not yet joined
the caravan of mn but would be joining in future and earning their share from the
heritage of knowledge and deeds imparted by the Prophet . Who can doubt

that this glorious share is a favor and merit par excellence: ( It is a

2
bounty from Allh which He gives to whoever He wills. )?
The Prophet

himself trained the Sahbah to work in various fields of
action. An excellent example in subsequent years is that of Hazrat Umar Farooq who
personally mentored young Sahb Hazrat 'Abdullh ibn 'Abbs
. He guided Ibn
'Abbs and encouraged him on his way to scholarly accomplishments. An important aspect
of the life of great Imm Ab Hanfah is the convening of scholarly assemblies where
under his supervision, young scholars discussed and debated, reviewed and critiqued each
others research work and ruling-derivations from the Qurn and Sunnah. All of them
later developed into the suns and moons of the sky of Fiqh.
In short, it is a critical need of the times to transfer the heritage of elders successfully
and completely to the younger generation. A major reason for the scarcity of worthy men
today is that elders have passed on to the next life generation after generation, but their
heritage could not be transferred to the successors. As a result, every field of life saw a
chasm too wide to be filled. Probably, knowledge, excellence and merit are not simply
snatched away from the hearts of people; instead the level of knowledge in society
declines gradually as men of knowledge and people of excellence pass on to next life
without transferring their heritage to the coming generations. The holy Prophet

1 Qurn 62:3
2 Qurn 62:4

5

has himself hinted at this in the Hadth: ( Allh takes
away knowledge by giving death to the people of knowledge.3)
This leads us to the fact that a highly important task of our times is to train talented
youths of the upcoming generation and make them worthy inheritors of the people of
merit and excellence from present times and past. This is the vision that has guided us
from day one. First, informal training camps were conducted in various places across the
country to train scholars. Second, talented and knowledgeable graduates were appointed
in various Drul Qaz and Ift to train their vision, thoughts and intellect. And this has
been going on for years.
By Allhs grace, the same vision led to the foundation of AlMahad-ul l for Training in
Adjudication and Jurisconsultation (Phulwr Shareef, Patna). The purpose is to help
young students in getting acquainted with the boundless ocean of Islmic Fiqh; in
becoming proficient with the principles of deriving rulings from the Qurn and Sunnah,
with the rules and regulations of Fiqh, the objectives of Sharah, the modes of ruling-
derivation, and the criteria for giving preference to one textual evidence over another; in
developing skills to apply the Sharah rulings to contemporary challenges and issues; in
studying and comparing the blessings of Islmic Law with the inconsistencies and inanities
of modern legal systems. This would enable our graduates to successfully face the
challenges of our times and to resolve the new and upcoming issues in light of the Qurn
and Sunnah.
The scholars getting admission into AlMahad-ul ls two-year course are trained to
derive rulings for contemporary issues, find solutions for modern challenges and write
their findings as Fatws. They also undertake research on various academic and Fiqh-
related tpics. In addition to learning practical methodologies of the Justice System of
Islm, they also get acquainted with the ideological bearings of various Adjudication-
related issues and get training in implementing them in real life. The Adjudicational
System of Imrate Sharaiah is highly well-organized, efficiently managed and has a wide
reach. Everyday, cases are brought here, hearings are conducted and judgments
delivered. It is now endowed with a massive treasure-trove of Sharah-based verdicts and
rulings delivered over past 80 years which the graduates regularly benefit from.
It can be rightly claimed that Imrate Sharaiah is the most well-suited place for
specialization in Islmic Fiqh and for gaining expertise in Adjudication and
Jurisconsultation. It is hoped that the specialized professionals graduating from this

Allhs Prophet said: Allh does not take away knowledge by snatching it from slaves (people). Instead He takes away
knowledge from the world by giving death to people of knowledge. When no knowledgeable man remains, people appoint ignorants as
their leaders. People then ask their leaders who answer without knowledge. The leaders thus lose the path and misguide others. (Bukhr:

institute will have adequate skills to carry out duties of Adjudication and they will go a
long way in fulfilling the requirements of various Drul Qaz established all over the
country to preserve the Sharah Law here and to resolve family disputes. They will also
be able to take up responsibilities in various Drul Ift of the country and serve as some
of the best teachers in our madrasahs. They will have the capability to present the
Islmic Law as a living Law for the current times. They will have a deep understanding of
gradual progression of Islmic rulings; and with a keen insight into the developments in
the field of science and technology and modern society, they will be able to apply
Sharah rules to modern life.
I pray to Allh the All-Knowing, the All-Aware to make the Mahad successful in attaining
its constructive, beneficial and far-reaching objectives. To the madrasah-graduates
getting trained here, to the eminent scholars and teachers whose knowledge and vision
have blessed it, and to the people of wealth whose contributions will, Allh willing, help
the Mahad reach heights of growth, to each of them, may Allah grant sincerity of
intention and generous rewards for their noble deeds! And as a weak companion of this
caravan, may He also benefit this humble from its blessings!
(Mujhidul Islm Qsm)

The Mahad started its academic services from the Jamaat room of Imrate Sharaiah, then it
temporarily moved to the house of Hazrat Mauln Badrul Hasan Qsm May his shadow persist
which adjoins the current Mahad campus in its west. The work continued there till the
construction of its current dedicated campus got completed.
May Allh guide us all to preserve this trust and to keep working for its development and stability,
bringing it closer and closer to its high objectives. May He make this our treasure for the Next Life
and the means for obtaining blessings in both lives. ( For sure, this is not difficult for

room for resting. Several high-profile seminars and conferences have been organized here and

9
continue to be held regularly. The prominent ones include the second seminar of Islmic Fiqh
Academy, Muslim Literature League seminar, and some grand public meetings in honor of guests
from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Adjacent to the hall are two small rooms. A part of the hall is two-
storied, the upper part of which is called balcony. Presently, the library is in this balcony. Next to it
is a room named Research and Analysis Section where currently the teachers examine the theses
submitted by students.
The building was inaugurated on 19 Zul Hijjah 1419 AH (=17 April 1999) by the blessed hands of
Shaikh Wahbah Zuhaili, eminent Jurist and scholar from Shm (Syria) and Head of Department for
Islmic Fiqh and Its Schools. Renowned scholar, jurist and former Chief Justice of Sharah Court in
Pakistan, Muft Taq Usmn; Chancellor of Drul 'Uloom Deoband Waqf and distinguished
contemporary scholar, Hazrat Mauln Muhammad Slim Qsm; Ameere Shariat Hazrat Mauln
Sayyid Nizmuddn; Hazrat Mauln Qz Mujhidul Islm Qsm and other celebrated scholars
from India and abroad were present too.
Two years back, an eminent delegation from Auqf Ministry of Kuwait that included its Secretary Dr
dil 'Abdullh AlFallh, and former General Secretary with the General Secretariat for Auqf,
Sayyid 'Abdul Muhsin Muhammad AlUsmn had graced its foundation ceremony with the latter
laying its foundation stone on 22 Zul Qadah 1417 AH (=01 Apr 1997).

Operations
AlMahad-ul l works under the supervision of Imarate Sharah, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand and
is administered by AlMahad Trust (registration no: 1999/3048).
It has two managing bodies:
1. AlMahad Trust
2. Management Council
AlMahad Trust
It is the most powerful body and its decisions regarding growth and stability of Mahad and all its
projects and plans are final and binding. It comprises illustrious personalities from the country.
Management Council
This council supervises the day-to-day afairs of Mahad and scrutinizes the implementation of
AlMahad Trusts decisions. Its members are elected from the general body of AlMahad Trust.
Admission into Mahad
Only students who have graduated from a renowned and trusted religious university with high
marks are allowed admission into Mahad. They are also expected to have good aptitude for Fiqh
and Sharah sources: the Qurn and Sunnah. Applications for admission are accepted in the month

10
of Ramazn and in the first ten days of Shawwl which must be accompanied by photocopies of
graduation certificate and residence certificate. This is followed by a written exam and interview
whose date is announced at the start of Sha'bn itself. Only after passing these exams, the students
are admitted into Mahad. They are then expected to stay for two years at Mahad to complete the
course.
As Mahad is currently able to arrange for training of just 50 students at a time, and as its
curriculum spans two years, only 25 students are allowed admission in the first year.
Exams
Students at Mahad have to write two exams every year: half-yearly and annual. The half-yearly
exam usually takes place in the first ten days of Rabiul Awwal and the annual exam is held
normally in the second ten days of Sha'bn. To get promoted to the second year, a student must
pass all subjects.
Mahads certificate
Success in the first years exams gets students promotion to the second and success in the second
year gets them Certificate of specialization in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation.

Academic Curriculum
The Islmic Fiqh is based on Allhs Book and the Prophets Sunnah. These are the

sources that have reached us through the safe and trusted hands of our elders. Muslim jurists have
pondered over and delved into these very references to derive hundreds of thousands of rulings
and guidelines, thus formulating a complete system of life which covers every aspect of human life
and is the most comprehensive of all laws. It contains guidance for worships, transactions, social
interactions, public life, economic life, politics, government, crime and punishment, international
relations and so on. In short, it encompasses every issue related to individual, society, nation and
all forms of mutual relations and is in perfect sync with reason and expediency, is harmonious with
human nature, takes care of real human needs and requirements, and has the ability to lead the
society through its never-ending changes and challenges. All of this make Islmic Law exceptional
and outstanding.
Islmic Fiqh holds a prominent position in the world of Islmic sciences. It is in complete
conformity with human life. Without delving into this science and gaining expertise in it, it is
impossible to find a solution for issues of every generation: a solution which complies with the
objectives of Allhs Book and Prophets Sunnah, conforms with reasonable human needs, and
provides correct guidance for lifes issues. In providing guidance to Muslims, Islmic Fiqh comes in
two forms: Jurisconsultation (Ift) and Adjudication (Qaz).

11
Jurisconsultation or Ift aims at explaining and elucidating Islmic Law while Adjudication or Qaz is
concerned with investigating real-life issues and applying Sharah rulings to them. This makes each
of the two works essential, complementary and critical. Each of these subjects has had the special
attention of jurists, scholars and ideologues in every age.
The need of the hour is to arrange for training in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation in a
professional and organized manner. This should not be limited to the handling of just a few judicial
cases, answering of a few Fatw-requests and study of a couple of books. Instead the students
should be given opportunity to deeply study Islamic Fiqh and related sciences. Aptitude for
research and discussion should be inculcated into them. They should be encouraged to benefit
from monumental reference-works. They should spend time studying Allhs Book and Prophets
Sunnah as the original sources of Sharah rulings. They should be trained to write elegantly and
professionally on academic and research-related subjects. They should be taught important and
reliable books on Etiquettes of Adjudication and Principles of Jurisconsultation. And at the same
time they should be provided practical experience in these fields too. To cater to these lofty
objectives, the following curriculum is followed at AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and
Jurisconsultation:
Principles of Fiqh is the key for Fiqh. Until a student is familiar with it, he cannot find the
right direction for deriving rulings and resolving issues. Giving special priority to it, old and
trusted books on Principles of Fiqh by Hanaf scholars and some books on Principles of other
Fiqh schools by scholars and experts from recent past have been included in the curriculum.
The subject of Rules of Fiqh has not been given the importance it deserves in the curricula
popular in Indian religious madrasahs when in fact its benefits are quite significant as it has
been derived directly from Allhs Book and Prophets Sunnah. Consisting of generalized
fundamentals of Sharah, they represent the essence and spirit of Deen. A large part of the
body of individual Fiqh rulings is based on derivation and inference which may change with
changing world but the Rules of Fiqh are unchanging and permanent. Keeping in view the
importance of Rules of Fiqh, it has been given special place in the curriculum. Several books
on the subject by ancient scholars, later scholars and recent scholars have been included in
the classroom curriculum and also in additional study list.
To correctly understand any law, it is essential that the student has a clear view of its aims
and objectives. Lack of awareness at times opens floodgates of licentiousness and on other
occasions, it leads to too much restrictions and hardships. After learning the objectives and
spirit of the Sharah, if a person is sincere and ponders over the Sharah rulings, he will Allh
willing stay safe from the two extremes of excess and negligence. So this science too has
been given place in the curriculum as a separate subject.

12
An important part of this course is the study of various schools of Jurisprudence so that
students are aware of the unanimous opinions and conflicting views in each topic of Fiqh.
This helps them find out what topics may become subjects of further investigation and
research and what topics are beyond the realms of any further revision. Attempt has been
made to let the students learn the other three Fiqh schools from their own reliable reference
works so that they get to know the correct opinions and relevant details in diferent schools.
That the study of diferent Fiqh schools not only increases the spectrum of ones knowledge
but also broadens ones mind and vision is another factor behind its inclusion in the course.
Qurn and Sunnah are fundamental sources of Sharah rulings. So the curriculum also
includes important books on the verses and Hadths of rulings.
Personal Law is a critical section of Islmic Fiqh. Muslims whether living in a Muslim country
or as a minority are duty-bound to follow Islmic teachings in all cases. The Islmic Law of
social life is in perfect harmony with human nature and there is no law in contemporary
times which hasnt derived a part of itself from it. Unfortunately, today Western wordsmiths
and misguided scholars have made this section of Islmic Law the special focus of their
devious criticisms. In this backdrop, the Personal Law has been given special place in the
syllabus.
It is necessary to be aware of books and treatises written on solution of recent issues of
contemporary times. In past too, scholars have paid special attention to such writings which
are called Nawzil (recent issues). In our age, various Fiqh academies have made valuable
contributions to this field and their works have been published. They too have been included
in the curriculum so that students may learn and appreciate the entire gamut of diferent
works and views.
The overwhelming majority of residents of the Indo-Pak sub-continent follows Hanaf Fiqh,
so one needs to have extensive and deep knowledge of Hanaf Fiqh to be able to fulfill
responsibilities of Adjudication and Jurisconsultation here. Also, in matters of Personal Law
and mutual transactions, Hanaf Fiqh is closest to fulfilling the demands of these times. So
the important topics from Hanaf Fiqh related to transactions and Personal Law are taught in
classroom page by page.
Etiquettes for Judges is a subject with extensive scope and an entire library now exists
comprising books on the subject. Some of the most important and authoritative works on
this subject are part of the curriculum. The law of testimony too is a very important section
of the rulings of adjudication as the establishment of facts depends upon this. In
contemporary times, the prevalent Western law of testimony is quite diferent from Islms,
so a comparative study of the two is also a part of the curriculum.

13
Just classroom-learning and self-study is not enough for the responsibilities of Adjudication
and Jurisconsultation; real-life practice and experience is necessary too. The Drul Qaz
(Court of Adjudication) of Imrate Sharaiah is one of the largest centers of Islmic justice
system in the country where hundreds of cases of diferent sorts are filed every year. Every
day, hearings take place and verdicts are delivered. Similarly, the Drul Ift of Imrate
Sharaiah is one of the two or three largest Jurisconsultation centers in India where
maximum number of questions on diferent topics come from various regions and states.
Students spend sufficient amount of time benefiting from practical training in these two
reputed departments.
Theses
At the end of second year, students have to write a thesis comprising at least a hundred pages on
an important Fiqh topic covering all the relevant aspects of the topic. Alternatively, they have the
option to do research work on some unpublished manuscript. As of now, 249 theses have been
written on various Fiqh topics. Revision and editing of the works is currently under progress.
Additionally, the finding of sources and references for Fatw Hindiyah is now complete and is in
undergoing revision. On the other hand, research and finding of sources for Raddul Muhtr ald
Durr-il Mukhtr is actively going on. Allh willing, efort will be made to publish this academic
treasure as and when means permit. Some of the important topics on which theses have been
written are:
Rulings of Baiul Waf
Rulings of Interest in Islm
History of Islmic Fiqh
Rulings for the sick
Rulings for women in Islmic Sharah
Prescribed punishments in light of Islmic text and reason
Rulings of hiring in Islm
Rulings of the return-option in business and social transactions
Rulings of using prohibited substances in medicines
Rulings of manufacture-on-order and other modern transactions

AlMahad-ul l in the eyes of Visionaries and Scholars
Hazrat Mauln Sayyid Muhammad Rbi Hasan Nadw (May his blessings persist)
Director, Nadwatul Ulam, Lucknow; President, All India Muslim Personal Law Board
Got a chance to closely see AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation
during my recent visit to the Imrate Sharaiah headquarters. Here, graduates from trusted Islmic
universities get the opportunity to benefit and have training. This is an important academic,
religious and practical work and is indispensable to help Indian Muslims fulfill their Sharah-related
needs in accordance with the Islmic Sharah. It has a two-year curriculum and presently 50
graduates are receiving education and training here. The institute has been working for several
years and its fruitful results are becoming visible in real-life.
09 Rabius Sn 1428 AH (=26 Apr 2007)
Hazrat Mauln Muhammad Slim Qsm (May his blessings persist)
Director, Drul 'Uloom Waqf (Deoband)
It can be said without fear of contradiction that the highly important service that this Mahad has
been doing on its own is based on a deep understanding of the contemporary world which
incidentally is also an important need of the Ummah in all ages. Graduates from madrasahs get
admission here and they are given an authoritative vision of both Jurisconsultation and
Adjudication.
29 May 2004 (=10 Rab II, 1425)
Hazrat Mauln Qr Muhammad Usmn Mansrpr (May his blessings persist)
Deputy Chancellor, Drul 'Uloom, Deoband
It is a matter of pleasure that these graduates are trained in Jurisconsultation and Adjudication
based on a solid foundation. Every year, the institute prepares 52 capable Mufts and Qzs who, as
per Allhs guidance, render great services in the fields of Jurisconsultation and Adjudication in
India and abroad. May Allh grant more stability and growth to this movement.
20 Muharram 1427 AH (=19 Feb 2006)
Hazrat Mauln Muhammad Burhnuddn Sambhal (May his shadow persist)
Head, Department of Tafsr, Drul 'Uloom, Nadwatul Ulam, Lucknow
This is the only institution of its kind in entire India where the graduates of 'Arabic madrasahs are
trained in Jurisconsultation and Adjudication which is a momentous work.

Hazrat Mauln Wzih Rasheed Nadw (May his shadow persist)
Secretary of Academics, Drul 'Uloom Nadwatul Ulam, Lucknow
Got to know of the functioning of AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation
in detail, and met the teachers and students. This is a singular institute in India specializing in
education in Adjudication system, Jurisconsultaion and Fiqh. Under the command of Hazrat
Mauln Nizmuddn Shib, the institute has grown even further. Upon seeing wall journals in
'Arabic and Urdu written by students here, I found that the institute also inculcates journalistic and
writing skills. I had visited the place a few years back too and was glad to find that the institute has
developed further and the organization has expanded even more.

Teacher of Hadth, Drul 'Uloom Nadwatul Ulam, Lucknow
Today on 11 June 2010, I got to visit AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and Jurisprudence
for the first time. Was able to see with my own eyes the noble results of intentions and hard works
of the pious, sincere and ambitious servants of Allh who had founded this institute and irrigated it
with their blood and sweat.

Hazrat Mauln Sayyid Salmn Husain Nadw (May his shadow persist)
Teacher of Hadth, Drul 'Uloom Nadwatul Ulam, Lucknow
The Mahad has two-year curriculum and accepts admission of 25 madrasah graduates every year.
It provides them with professional training in academics and real-world practice. I feel this is a
specially acclaimed institute in the country and its services deserve kudos and compliments.

Hazrat Mauln Muft Muhammad Zafruddn Mifth (Allhs mercy be upon him)
Former Muft, Drul 'Uloom Deoband; President, Islmic Fiqh Academy (India)
Have been visiting the institute from time to time to meet the teachers and students. This time too,
I got to meet the honorable teachers and students here and had some conversation with them. My
heart felt reassured that the tree Qz Mujhidul Islm Qsm had planted is now giving beneficial
fruits in large number.

AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and Jurisonsultation, Phulwr Sharf, Patna is an
eminent, well-known, impactful and active institute at national level. By Allhs grace, I had the
opportunity to be aware of its academic and practical struggles from the beginning, have been
interested in its activity, and have been participating in its vision as per my humble capability. This
institute has been fulfilling a great need of the Indian Muslim Ummah which has been getting more
important and more critical with the passage of every day. Thanks to Allh, and then to the
curriculum, organization, staf, leadership and guidance of Qz Shib (Mercy be upon him), and of
Imrate Sharaiah and Hazrat Ameere Shariat: all of this has made the institute highly admired,
beneficial and fruitful for madrasah graduates. Today this institute in particular has been providing
capable Jurists for the numerous Drul Qaz established in diferent regions all over the country.

Professor Mauln Muhsin Usmn Nadw (May his shadow persist)
Former Head of Department; Arabic, English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad
India in not an Islmic country and as a result, Muslims here have been sufering from numerous
difficulties and obstacles, yet Indian Muslims have succeeded in establishing such significant and
magnificent institutes that it is difficult to find similar examples even in Muslim countries. One such
institute is this: AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation. The tree Qz
Mujhidul Islm Shib had planted has now become a massive tree. Its splendid library, an
admirable system of education and training, students arriving here from far-of corners of the
country, courteous and capable teachers, top grade education in Adjudication and
Jurisconsultation: seeing all of this I felt that this Ummah has the discipline of life and the right to
live. Even now!
23 Sep 2011 (=25 Shawwl 1432)
Hazrat Mauln Muhammad Shhid Shib (May his shadow persist)
General Secretary, Mazhir 'Uloom, Saharanpur
Today on 18 Zul Hijjah 1432 AH, I visited AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and
Jurisconsultation, Phulwr Sharf for the first time. Thanks to Allh, I found the administrators busy
in organizational tasks, the teachers engaged in teaching and learning, and the students devoted to
gaining education and sharing it. Saw its library too. May Allh grant it boundless blessings and all
sorts of success and well-being. Amen.

Hazrat Mauln Muhammad Ashraf 'Al Bqw Shib (May his shadow persist)
Ameere Shariat, Karnataka; Director, Drul 'Uloom, Sabeelur Rashd, Bangalore
By Allhs guidance, I had the honor of visiting AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and
Jurisconsultation today. Was deeply impressed to find the institute well-ordered and highly
organized. It has a nice arrangement for cleanliness and sanitation. Also had the opportunity to
meet dear students and to speak to them. This institute was established by Hazrat Mauln Qz
Mujhidul Islm Qsm (Allhs mercy be upon him) and it has been steadfast in the path of growth
in accordance with the lofty ambitions and aspirations of Qz Shib. May Allh grant it further
growth!
18 Muharram 1434 AH (=2 Dec 2012)
Hazrat Mauln Barakatullh 'Abdul Qdir Shib (May his shadow persist)
Teacher of Fiqh and Hadth, Ibrhm College, London
Today on 15 Dec 2012 (= 01 Safar 1434 AH), I had the opportunity to stay for two days at AlMahad-
ul l running under the supervision of Imrate Sharaiah. Had several meetings with teachers,
students and administrators. First, I found the apparent plainness of the building and its innate
splendor a manifestation of its real beauty and charm. Truly liked it, felt it praiseworthy and worth
emulation. Secondly, saw the dedication of teachers and commitment of trainee students. Was
impressed by its excellence in academics, pedagogy and professional training. Had a nice and
pleasing experience during lecture and in meetings with students. This institute has been gloriously
fulfilling a sufficiency obligation of the Muslim Ummah.
Hazrat Mauln Khlid Saifullh Rahmn Shib (May his shadow persist)
Founder and Director, AlMahad-ul l AlIslm, Hyderabad; General Secretary, Islmic Fiqh
Academy (India)

AlMahad-ul l for Training in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation is probably the first dedicated
institute established in India for further training of graduates of religious madrasahs. Hazrat
Mauln Qz Mujhidul Islm Qsm felt the need for a dedicated institute to impart training in
Adjudication, so he established it. Thanks to Allh, the institute has been successful in
accomplishing its objectives from day one, and its blessings are spreading all over India and even
abroad. The institute has further advanced on the road of progress in the fields of academics,
training and organization.
16 Rabus Sn, 1434 AH (=26 Feb 2013)
Janb Ijz Ahmad Aslam Shib
Assistant Supervisor, Jamate Islm India, Delhi
Visit to AlMahad is a matter of honor and blessing for me. This institute has been rendering the
highly beneficial service of providing education in Adjudication and Jurisconsultation, and of
preparing Qzs and Mufts. Today nearly 17-18 crore Muslims of India are forced to make rounds
of courts and sufer humiliation and rejection at diferent doors to resolve their mutual disputes.
The revival of Islmic judicial system will resolve many of our issues.
