General Comments

Result of APO hearing

At the meeting Nirmal Chandra Gope, Md Iqbal Hussain and Irfan Hassan were made aware that the
similarity score on the HUMS3006 group assignment was 41%. The students recognized that it was
their assignment. The students explained that they had had problems with the referencing system
as well as paraphrasing the information they had found.

Verdict:
We find that the students arguments are in line with the observed. The case is considered as poor
academic practice. However, the students should have been aware of the risk of violating the rules.
The mark for the assignment will be lowered to 30.

At the meeting all the students were informed of the potential consequences of further academic
offences. Moreover, the students were urged to revert to the learning material provided to them, as
well as to get in contact with the academic counsellor and/or the tutor in case of any doubt..
