Big Ideas/Unit Goals:

Big Ideas:
The main goal of this unit will be for students to properly identify, and locate, a variety of muscles. All of our focus will
be on the major muscles, or groups. Students will be quizzed on both location, as well as function. Once the students can
properly identify the muscles they will be required to also provide different exercise that would properly work the
muscles discussed in class.
Knowing where the muscles are in our body, as well as how they work, will be important for any student who is looking
to stay active outside of the classroom. Whether it is the ability to know how to work certain muscles, or being able to
properly discuss, and determine, which of their muscles are sore, or have suffered apparent injury.

Unit Summary:
In this unit students will learn 15 of the major muscles in the body. Students will be able to know their location on the body, as well as what exercises will specifically target
those muscles.
