Are you up for the challenge? I need YOUR help in solving the mystery! Someone came in the
nights and erased all my knowledge of the states of matter! Can you help me remember all
about the states of matter?

Your mission is to become an expert on SOLIDS! Use the iPads and QR codes in your mission
envelope to help you learn what you need to know!

Here are the steps necessary to complete your mission.

Step 1: Accept the mission.

Step 2: Get two iPads for your group.

Step 3: Find the app, Qrafter and open it. Use the app to scan a QR code in your packet,
read the information in the article or watch the video and write down information you learned
about solids using your research journal sheets.

Make sure you have:


- Definition (What is a solid?)
- At least 4 sentences about solids
- 3 vocabulary words
- 3 fun facts
- 2 examples of a solid

Step 4: Show Miss Sterner, Mrs. Heiss, or Mr. Scheller your research and have them
confirm youre ready to draft your book.

Step 5: Using the worksheets in your packet marked ROUGH DRAFT, make a rough draft
of your final book.

Step 6: Show the rough draft to Miss Sterner, Mrs. Heiss, or Mr. Scheller.

Step 7: If they approve your rough draft, use the papers in your folders marked FINAL
DRAFT to make a final copy of your book.

Step 8: Use the Informational Writing Checklist in your folder to make sure you did your
best work!

Step 9: When your final copy of your book is finished, show it to Miss Sterner, Mrs. Heiss,
or Mr. Scheller.

Step 10: Mission Accomplished!
