Anger Management Counseling

The purpose of this small counseling group is to help students who have trouble

managing their anger. This group will provide an opportunity for all students to learn and

practice interpersonal skills, discuss feelings, share ideas, practice new behaviors, and hopefully

make new friends.

The six week counseling session is designed for high school students. The anger

management group will provide students who are experiencing anger issues with safe and

healthy strategies for dealing with frustrating situations. Each session will be about 30 minutes

long and will last for six weeks. Each lesson provided will align with the ASCA National Model

and ASCA National Standards for personal/social development guide school counseling

programs. The ASCA National Standards for personal/social development guide school

counseling programs provide the foundation for personal and social growth as students

progress through school and into adulthood.

The following standards will be addressed:

Standard A: Students will acquire the knowledge, attitudes and interpersonal skills to help them

understand and respect self and others.

Standard B: Students will make decisions, set goals and take necessary action to achieve goals.
