plans for a diverse caseload of adults with traumatic brain injuries and mental health

Attended the following continuing education courses: behavior management in brain
injury, dysphagia, pragmatics, vision assessment for patients with brain injury, healthcare
infection control.

Promote sportsmanship, team work, and development of athletic skills during practices.
Chaperone duties at tournaments include: assisting with personal hygiene, administering
medication, registering for events, and communicating with teammates and coaches.

Completed a systematic review on the functional outcomes of animal-assisted therapy
with two other occupational therapy students and presented at 2016 MiOTA conference.

Wrote and received a grant for Social Justice and Advocacy Workshop hosted by Disability

GROUP OCCUPATIONS IN PRACTICE COURSE | JUNE AUG. 2016


Developed and implemented six group therapy sessions for students receiving special
education services at Ross Park Elementary School: Super Sailor Summer Camp (Mona
Shores, MI.) as part of Occupations in Practice course offered through GVSU OT program.

AUTISM PRACTICUM | JAN. APRIL 2015


Worked alongside ASD teachers at Bursley Elementary School (Jenison, MI) to plan and
deliver instruction to individual students and small groups, implement individual and
classroom behavior plans, lead social skills groups, foster student learning experience in
general education classrooms, and to promote schoolwide inclusion.
Successfully completed complimentary 12 week autism seminar at GVSU.

ADAPTIVE PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND RECREATION PRACTICUM | SEP. DEC. 2014


Completed teacher assistantship at North Park Montessori (Grand Rapids, MI) adaptive
physical education class for elementary school students with autism spectrum disorder.
