HI-FOG for rolling stock
HI-FOG pop-out spray head offers an excellent combination of fire fighting
performance and improved aesthetics. The hidden pop-out spray heads
activate after a fire is confirmed by a detection system. Water mist is
discharged in the zone(s) where the fire was detected.

As a part of a HI-FOG system for rolling stock, the unique pop-out spray head
provide many benefits for fire protection of passenger compartments.

The HI-FOG pop-out spray heads remain
hidden in the ceiling until the fire has
been confirmed by fire detectors or the
system is manually activated. In automat-
ic mode, typically two fire detectors have
to send an alarm before the system is acti-
vated. This reduces the risk of a false dis-
charge.
Through manual activation train person-
nel have full control over the HI-FOG
system and can activate it anytime and
anywhere. Personnel who see a fire dan-
ger can immediately activate HI-FOG.

Blending with the interior design
Thanks to narrow tubing and compact

against vandalism, as their micro-nozzles
delivering the high pressure water mist
are hidden and inaccessible inside the
spray head bodies prior to activation.

Stand-by
When the system is on stand-by, there
is no water in the tubing network. The
HI-FOG pop-out spray head is hidden in
the carriage ceiling.

Pre-activation
When the fire is detected, the tubing net-
work is filled with water up to the section
valves. The pop-out spray head remains
hidden.

Activation
After the fire is confirmed by a second
detector or after manual activation,
high pressure water mist is instantly
discharged in the zone(s) where the fire
has been detected.
