INTRODUCTION

As a part of my project I have visited a four - storied building construction site named as
Mirage towers on 15 - 06 - 2017. The site is located near Kodungallur and it is 150 meters
away from Kodungallur temple and 230 meters away from the mugal mall. The total area of the
construction site is 4500 m2 and I visited almost each and every corner of the building. This
building block is constructed for a residential purpose which will be available for daily rent once
it is completed. The client of this project is Mr. David and the contractor is Ultima Builders.

Most of the activities that were found during my inspection in this construction site
were Plumbing, Wiring, Scaffolding, brick masonry, plastering works, rebaring, Manual
handling, Carpentry, Welding etc.

The common potable and heavy machineries that are used in this construction site are
pneumatic compressor, tile cutting machines, earth movers, Power tools, ,Welding machines
Cement mixer, fork lift etc.

There were many types of workers working in the construction site during my
inspection. They were masonry workers, electricians, plumbers, welders, painters, drilling
workers, carpenters, housekeeping employees etc. majority of them were skilled, but some of
them seems to be unskilled.

My inspection to the construction site identifies some dangerous hazards that are
involved during the construction of the building and possibly the best control measures were
mentioned to eliminate these bad activities to ensure the safety of employees.
