Lab Instructions:

1. As a group write a hypothesis for each ingredient on your Lab Results Sheet.

2. In order to start round one all of the hypothesis boxes should be filled out.

The person in charge of round 1 will show this to the teacher, and then start

with round one.

3. The person in charge of collecting plates will do so as Round One has

started.

4. Students a paper plate, fork and data sheet to write down


Round 1: Combine 1 cup flour and 1 cup water in a mixing bowl. After the batter

is mixed, with a cup measuring cup, make one pancake.

5. You will split this pancake with your group members so that everyone can

try it. ***Everyone must try the pancake, you do not have to eat the whole

thing, you just have to try it.***

6. Analyze and write down the descriptions of your pancake.

7. Write down the role that the selected ingredient played in the outcome of

your pancake.

8. After you have filled out your worksheet for this round, the next round can

begin.

Round 2: Add 1 egg to round 1 batter. After the batter is mixed, with a cup

measuring cup, make one pancake.

9. Repeat steps 5-8 for this round.

Round 3: Add 2 teaspoons of baking powder to round 2 batter. After the batter

is mixed, with a cup measuring cup, make one pancake.

10. Repeat steps 5-8 for this round.

Round 4: Add 1 Tablespoon sugar to round 3 batter. After the batter is mixed,

with a cup measuring cup, make one pancake.

11.Repeat steps 5-8 for this round.

Round 5: Add 1/8 teaspoon salt to round 4 batter. After the batter is mixed, with

a cup measuring cup, make one pancake.

12.Repeat steps 5-8 for this round.


Round 6: Add 2 Tablespoons oil to round 5 batter. After the batter is mixed,

with a cup measuring cup, make one pancake PER PERSON.

13.Repeat steps 5-7 for this round.

14.After you have eaten your pancake fill out the self and group evaluation and

then you can begin cleaning.
