Commenting on the Top Companies list, Maha Zaatari, Managing Director of Great
Place to Work in the UAE said, Congratulations to all 20 companies that made it onto
our 2016 list. The expansion of the 2016 list is testament to the value UAE companies
place on human capital development. There is no doubt that this years competition was
the toughest since we introduced the annual benchmarking programme six years ago.
The top 20 list makers truly understand how investing in their workplace cultures leads
to stronger business and people performance within their organisations.
Great Place to Work is a global research, training and consultancy firm that identify the
best workplaces in over 50 countries worldwide. To select the Top Companies to Work
for in the UAE, the firm conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-
thirds of the companys score is based on the results of the Institutes proprietary Trust
Index survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks
questions related to their attitudes about the managements credibility, employee
engagement and job satisfaction. The other third of the scoring is based on the
companys responses to the Institutes Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions
about pay and benefits programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring,
