ABSTRACT
Tamayo, Jaderic A., Oblino, Arnel L, and Nagallo, Vincent Paul L. DRIVING
WITHOUT LICENSE: FACTORS AND REASONS, (Undergraduate Thesis) Davao
Oriental State College of Science and Technology. April 2016.
This study aimed to determine the factors and reasons of driving without license
as well the importance of driver licensing and its implications to every driver without
license. This was conducted using qualitative research design through a focus group
discussion and thematic analysis.
The results of the study revealed that out of ten respondents, eight did not have a
drivers license. The factors of driving without license were found to be financial, lack of
time, priority and requirements. Reasons include financial problems and lack of income,
and difficulty in obtaining the requirements.
The study recommends that the responsible agency like the Land
Transportation Office will need to consider implementation of low cost of licensing. There
is also a need to conduct information drives and seminars of the importance of driver
license. For future researchers to conduct similar study in a larger scale and
quantitatively validating the factors and reasons that resulted in this study.
