The following is a check if the floor system layout meets the limitations of
the Direct Design Method
1. There shall be a minimum of 3 continuos spans in each direction. OK
2. The panels shall be rectangular, with the ratio of the longer to
shorter spans within a panel not greater than 2.
Maximum Long to Short Span Ratio 1.20 OK
3. The successive span lengths in each direction shall not differ
by more than 1/3 of the longer span. OK
4. Columns may be offset a maximum of 10 percent of the span

in the direction of the offset from either axis between


centerlines of successive columns OK
5. Loads shall be to gravity only and the live load shall not exceed
2 times the dead load
