APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

I write to express my interest for the position of Programme Coordinator- in your outfit. My expression
of interest is in response to your advertisement and I am motivated to apply for the above vacancy
primarily because the objectives of the job description resonate with my personal conviction that all
persons are entitled to development, and that given the required empowerment, excluded citizens,
including the youth, can claim and sustain their right to participation and development.

I worked with Catholic relief service (CRS) and Cooperative league of United States of America (CLUSA)
under the QUIP and GAIT, both USAID funded projects. In both I worked as a community and project
facilitators where I mobilized citizens groups, built their capacities in group dynamics, citizen-
government engagement mechanisms, advocacy and multi-stakeholder participatory planning among
others. All geared towards citizen empowerment for quality education and good local governance.

As a zonal coordinator in CLUSA, programmes Director in Ibis West Africa and Programme Manager in
Action Aid Ghana I have had hands on experiences in project design, planning, Implementation,
reporting, monitoring and evaluation as a team leader. And the experiences gathered span across varied
thematic interest such as education, good local governance, womens rights, gender, livelihoods, and
agriculture & food rights.

As a programme manager in ActionAid Ghana for northern region, I presided over and managed many
rights programme including education, food rights with climate change as a component. Within a
Human Rights Based Approach to poverty alleviation, we mobilized and built agencies of the poor,
provided empowerment support to build poor peoples power-within and power-with to claim their
rights to education, food and safe environment.

I possess solid and relevant experience in the area of programme and organisational management, all
aimed at empowering community groups, civil society groups, youth associations and strengthening
governance systems at the local and national levels. I gained these from 12 years of unbroken service in
strategic planning and management of integrated governance programmes from three renowned
international organisations namely USAID Ghana Accountability Improves Trust (GAIT I and II), IBIS in
Ghana, ActionAid Ghana and MS ActionAid Denmark. I have worked in charge of running many civil
society and youth empowerment, governance, education and womens rights interventions

This wealth of experience couple with my profound interest to work for marginalised people, I am fully
prepared, willing and motivated to deliver the most efficient service as your Programme Coordinator.
