Comments:
Stephanie has been working during her practicum in a Grade 1 class, under the guidance of Ms. Merina Ripley. Classroom
composition for this group of students incorporated a number of students with challenging learning and behavioural needs.
Stephanie, therefore, has gained experience in differentiation, both for planning and delivery of academic content and for
managing behaviour. Ms. Ripley noted that Stephanie showed strong flexibility, being able to "go with the flow" and make
quick changes as needed. Stephanie has become familiar with curriculum for this level and was able to plan lessons where
she found her own resources and approaches.

enjoys being with them. She developed strong rapport with the students in the class. She was able to engage the students
in learning and to keep their focus and interest through the lessons, while dealing with behavioural challenges at the same
time. It was hard work to teach the lesson and maintain the focus of the students but Stephanie was able to do this well.

Comments:
Stephanie has demonstrated a high degree of professionalism throughout her practicum. She has certainly contributed to
building the positive environment that exists in this class. As Ms. Ripley noted, Stephanie is able to "see the positives".
Stephanie would plan to contribute more in a future school setting. As she wrote: "Contributing to the school is still a
target to work on, because at this particular school there was no extracurricular (because it is only K-2). Getting involved
and helping out was not easy to do." Stephanie has learned to plan and implement lessons, while conducting herself as a
professional. She has successfully completed her practicum.
