A DETAILED PLAN IN ENGLISH 6

Week 1 Day 3
I. Objectives:
A. Content Standard: The learner listens critically; communicate feelings and ideas orally and in
writing with high level of proficiency; and reads various text types materials to serve learning
needs.
B. Performance Standard: A learner is able to read aloud grade level appropriate text with an
accuracy rate of 95-100%.
C. Learning Competencies:
1. ENGG 1a 2.3.1 Compare clear and coherent sentences using appropriate grammatical
structure: Pluralization of Regular Nouns

IV. Procedure:
A. Preparation:
1. Review: Present some idiomatic expressions on the board and let the children tell
their meanings.
- Elicit also from the pupils some idiomatic expressions
2. Drill: Read the list of idioms written on strips of cartolina/manila paper
B. Presentation:
1. Present and discuss the rules on forming the plural forms of Regular Nouns as:
a. Most nouns take their plural form by adding s

b. Nouns ending in s, x, z, ch, and sh form their plural by adding es

c. Nouns ending in y preceded by a consonant, form their plural by changing y to I
