An education related court case that was processed in the Circuit Court of appeals in
Nevada is the Amanda J., A Minor by and through her guardian AD litem, Annette J., Plaintiff-
Appellant V. Clark County School District, and Nevada State Department of Education,
Defendants-Appellees decision was decided on August 13, 2001. In this case Amanda appeals
from the courts decision to affirm that the states officer conclusion that she received a free
appropriate education, also known as the FAPE, with Disabilities Education Act. Clark County
denied Amanda a free appropriate education. The State Hearing Officer determined that Amanda
would be provided with a reimbursement for the cost of the 1996 assessments that indicated
autism and the cost of the in home program that was funded by her parents from April 1, 1996 to
July 1, 1996. They also gave her compensation for the inappropriate language that was
