FEMINAZISM

- Gaurang Mahawar, 13112033, IIT Roorkee

For decades, women have been striving to gain equality as men: in terms of social presence,
political functioning and financial equitability. They have been held back and their
opportunities were taken away just because of the fact that they were females. This led to
the evolution of Feminist Movement. I believe that women have right to be equal with men
and Feminism is slowly accomplishing this. But, under the shade of Feminism, few women
take undue advantage of their sex. A radical approach to Feminism is what is termed as
Feminazism. A Feminazi is a sexist person who believes in female dominance. Feminazi is a
derogatory term used to describe either feminists who are perceived as extreme or radical or
women who are perceived to seek superiority over men, rather than equality.
These days our nation is witnessing a surge of Feminazism. On the name of Feminism, a battle
of sexes has been waged. These Feminazis have created a mess in the society. An all new era
is rising high. An era, when males have to live under the dark shadows of fear of being
defamed or refuted by the society. A society where Females are always the victims and Males
are always the culprit. A thick layer of rust has covered the brains of people so badly that our
society is losing out on being practical and rational.
A lady posts an image of a guy with the caption: This guy molested me or The following
person passed abusive and sexist comments on me. And the next thing that the so-called
pro-active people on social media do, is start extending their all-round support to the female.
The TRP hungry news channels just awards the guy with titles such as pervert, eve-teaser
and what not. The law sees both sides of the coin but the social media is biased. They simply
do not care about the argument of the male counterpart! I mean, what if the girl was lying.
What if it was all a revenge of some dark past? What if the girl is just trying to gain publicity
and fame? What if.. Can you imagine the pain of the male counterpart? His whole life will
be thrashed and destroyed. He will lose his job. The reputation of his family will be under
question. And on the worst note, his whole career will be ruined.
In August 2015, a similar case was reported in Delhi which made it to the headlines of all the
News Media Houses. A girl posts the image of a guy accusing him of molesting her. Later, Ms.
Jasleen Kaur, who acted as the victim in this whole incident came out to be the actual culprit.
It was just a publicity stunt and the worst part of it was the she was doing it to gain political
mileage. She was reported to be the leader of the Youth wing of AAP.
The Rohtak sisters viral video controversy involves a video that went viral on the social media
in late November 2014. The video showed, girls beating up three boys in a moving bus alleging
that they had molested them. The Rohtak sisters became the overnight sensation of the
country by standing up to the molesters. They were nicknamed as Brave-hearts. Soon after
more videos and eye-witnesses came into account and the opinion started to shift to the
negative. The girls failed the Polygraph and the Lie-Detector tests. Late another man came
forward who claimed that he had been similarly accused of molestation and had to pay INR
20,000 to have the charges dropped. Under the label of weaker sex, they both had been
extorting money from young men. The sisters are nothing but professional scam artists. They
should be severely prosecuted instead of given awards!

Many girls have been found exploiting the loop hole in the Indian Judiciary System against
rape, molestation and other harassments. Statistics strongly sheds light to the above
statement. Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) revealed that 53.2% of the rape cases filed
between April 2013 and July 2014 were found false. The report says that between April 2013
and July 2014, of the 2,753 complaints of rape, only 1,287 cases were found to be true, and
the remaining 1,464 cases were found to be false1. False complaints were registered just to
seek revenge regarding some personal issues. This is a sheer misuse of law which was made
strict after the Nirbhaya Rape Case. A defamation suit needs to be filed against every faulty
reporters of such crimes. False accusation cause huge stress and personal and professional
losses in the life of the alleged person.

Feminism is about equality of both the sexes in every aspects. It is being associated with
Empowerment of Women. It is never about hegemony of any sexes. The Feminazis are just
adding fuel to the blazing fire of the battles between the two genders. The people to be
blamed here are the Media Houses and to an extent, ourselves. The media is not here for
charity. They are here for business. They are completely professional. They do what is best
for their TRP. News channels production, completely depends upon what a common man
wants to consume. Which in our case happens to be the news about how women are treated
in the Indian society? Are they given equal rights as men? We rushed to make heroes out of
the Rohtak girls for beating up three boys whom they said where harassing them. Despite any
proof of a solid evidence, we jump to conclusions. A girls word cannot be taken for granted.
May be she is lying for some personal gain. We are driven by emotions and react rather than
respond. We sentence the guy on social media without even giving heed to his side of story!
Neither all men rape nor all women accuse. But even a few such pathetic people are enough
to turn our society a nightmare. Therefore, all the males, should show some respect, care and
manners towards our female counterparts and abstain from evil-deeds like rapes and eve-
teasing etc. Meanwhile, all the females, should understand the situation. Society takes them
as a priority and supports them blindly whenever they have to face any kind of sex-crimes.
But, they should not use this support to bring down the Male counterparts.
