Activities / programme of the Workshop:


Main part of the programme are voice and body expression workshops complemented with
integration, intercultural, empowerment and evaluation workshops. Action Laboratory is a method
of self-development for adults to inspire them for further education and creation of active and
satisfactory life as senior citizens.
Workshops involve both individual and group techniques, working with voice expression (proper
breathing, cohesion of sounds and actions, therapy and relaxation with and through music) and body
expression (body language, integrity, balance, gestures, basis of drama techniques, expressing
emotions). Internal individual and/or group presentations will be developed during the training
process, this session will include feedback from other participants and trainers an also presentation
of course certificates. Workshop is appropriate for non-professionals, beginners, and amateurs and
no experience is required.
Olga Szwajgier - world class soprano, performer of Penderecki, Lutoslawski and others works,
lecturer at the State School of Drama in Krakow, creator and trainer of Laboratory of Voice
Training. She performed at all major festivals of contemporary music in Poland, Italy, France,
Greece, Germany, Korea, Lithuania, Ukraine, Mexico building special suspense with audience.
Marta Pietruszka - dancer, choreographer and teacher of modern dancing and Jewish dance. She
cooperates and performs in Gesture and Movement Theatre in Krakow, Silesian Art Theatre and
dancers and choreographers from USA, Finland, Austria, the Netherlands and Canada. Her shows
were awarded at festivals in Poland and abroad.

Practical arrangements:
Whole seminar (including working hours and the stay) will be held in one place, at the area of the
Villa Decius renaissance complex. Participants will be accommodated in single rooms, meals served
on the spot. Participant will have a chance to visit main local attractions and become familiar with
historical and cultural heritage of Krakow. Education, meals and accommodation costs will be
covered. Participants will be reimbursed for their travel cost to and from Krakow.

RULES OF THE EUROPEAN COMMSSION FOR GRUNDTVIG WORKSHOP PROGRAMME:

1. Profile of the learners:


The Workshops are open to any adult citizen; however, particular attention is given to including
people from vulnerable social groups and in marginal contexts, in particular older people and those
who have left education without basic qualifications, in order to give these disadvantaged social
groups alternative opportunities to access adult education. The action is open to adult person who
is a national of or permanently residing (or registered as refugee or asylum-seeker) in one of the
Programme countries. Participants must come from at least three different participating countries, in
addition to the host country, and no more than 1/3 of the participants should originate from the
same country. Nationals of the country where the Workshop takes place (Poland) are eligible to
participate in the Workshop but cannot be funded through Grundtvig.
