Couple Testimony
This is a testimony of a cou-
ple who came to us last
year, they continue to use
their tools and are seeing
the result of putting Christ
in the middle of their mar-
riage rather than having
Him as an observer.
Dear Mark and Pat,
I was just thinking about
where weve come from
this last year. We still are
having difficulties in helping
our daughter. But, when I
think of where we, as a
couple, were last year, I am
in awe of the inner healing
that took place in both of
us. Our marriage is a
source of encouragement
for us both. Your ministry
played a huge role in mak-
ing that a reality. God bless
you both, and may he con-
tinue to use you in other
couples around the world.

Featuring Romania!
.The Lord continues to open doors for
marriage mentoring among overseas
couples. For a second year in a row Ha-
ven of Hope was invited by Family Life
Ministries to ROMANIA. So in
April/May three trained couples re-
turned to facilitate four events in three
cities, organized by three Romanian
Family Life staff couples from last
years trip. This year they shadowed us
as we taught, giving them opportunity
to help lead the small groups, reinforc-
ing the material, and preparing them
to lead the next time we visit.
First, in Bucharest two of the Roma-
nian couples helped us lead six local
couples thru a 3-day Marriage Inten-
sive. Then we traveled to a city
called Cluj, where we led a 2-day Mar-
riage Workshop. Seventeen couples
turned out, and they want us to return
again for a full 3-day Intensive! PTL
for the relatively small population of
Protestant Romanians who want to
build up their marriages and impact
their community, letting their marriag-
es model the relationship of Christ and
the church.
Moving on to Sibiu, we led a 3-day
Marriage Intensive with five local cou-
ples and a 2-day Workshop with eleven
couples. Here we were shadowed by the
third Romanian Family Life couple.

have quickly learned these principles
and want to reproduce them locally.
One participant from the Marriage
Intensive is a pastor and experi-
enced such freedom in Christ from
childhood pain thru this relational
care that he was able to unload that
burden. He was visibly changed and
spiritually encouraged to now lead
his wife and flock well. We keep see-
ing this principle worked out The
pain that happened in community
often needs healing in community.
During this two and a half weeks the
Lord provided opportunities of res-
pite for our trained couples to enjoy
the mountains and small cities of
Romania a beautiful country with
a rich history. Pray for the Romani-
an workers, as these saints have a
passion to reach their communities
for Christ through families & mar-
riages. Pray for plans for us to re-
turn to Romania to finish training
these leaders, perhaps as early as
this Sept.
