Welcome to Iceland

The Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law at the University of Iceland is the leading
centre of legal education and research in Iceland. It is the oldest
and largest law faculty and celebrated its hundredth anniversary
in 2008. Almost all Icelandic treatises and textbooks in law have
been written by current or former teachers of the faculty.

The Faculty as well as its Law Institute are ambitious in their work
and aim at providing quality education, research and achieving
results. Lawyers that have graduated from the Faculty have
received excellent legal education and have proved them selves
in practice as being fully competitive with lawyers from the best
law schools in the world.
