STUDENT CALL

GIVEN the Law of August 2nd, 1990, n. 241 Nuove norme in materia di procedimento
amministrativo e di diritto di accesso ai documenti amministrativi ["New regulations on
administrative procedure and the right of access to administrative documents"] and subsequent
amendments and / or additions;
GIVEN the applicable University Statute;
GIVEN the legislative decree of June 30th, 2003, n. 196 Codice in materia di dati personali
["Personal Data Code"], as implemented with the Internal Regulations on the Implementation of
Personal Data Protection Code used by the University, issued by D.R. n. 5073 dated 30.12.2005;
CONSIDERING the Scientific and Technological Cooperation Agreement signed between Universit
degli Studi di Napoli Federico II and Apple, for the establishment of Developer Academy, for the
training in the development of new applications and digital services, with the purpose - among others
- to provide students admitted to the Developer Academy with the necessary skills to become
"developer" of innovative apps, i.e. professionals who can design, implement and commercialize
innovative services on Apple technological platforms;
CONSIDERING that, as provided for by the aforesaid Scientific and Technological Cooperation
Agreement and the Exhibit A Project Addendum 1, the students will be admitted to the Developer
Academy after passing a specific selection;
GIVEN the Agreement signed on 22nd November 2016 between the Universit degli Studi di Napoli
Federico II and Regione Campania for the establishment of the Developer Academy
Project;
GIVEN the Administration Board decree of 25th July 2016 and 27 th October 2016 of with wihich the
administrative and accounting management has been entrusted to the Centro di Servizio di
Ateneo per il Coordinamento dei Progetti Speciali e lInnovazione Organizzativa dellUniversit degli
Studi di Napoli Federico II - COINOR;
CONSIDERING also that, for the academic year 2017/2018 it is expected that a total number of 378
students will be admitted to the Developer Academy;

DECLARES

SECTION 1
(Announcement and number of seats)
This University announces a notice for the selection of 378 students to be admitted the Developer
Academy divided into two education paths:
o Standard Classes: 342
o Master Class: 36
Standard Classes are further split into two different profiles: Geek and Creative
The two education paths are depicted in detail in the Annex A.1 that is integral part of this
notice.
The selection refers to the academic year 2017/2018.

SECTION 2
(Requirements for participation)
To be admitted to the selection mentioned in section 1, applicants must be Italian citizens, wherever
residing, EU citizens, non-EU citizens who:

for Standard Classes hold a high school diploma issued by upper-secondary educational
institutions or, if not obtained in Italy, an equivalent qualification;
for Master Class hold a Degree obtained according to the criteria prior to D.M. 509/99, or an
Italian Laurea Specialistica obtained under D.M. 509/99, or an Italian Laurea Magistrale
pursuant to D.M. 270/04, or if not obtained in Italy, an equivalent academic qualification or
other qualification issued by educational institutes recognized at European level.
The above mentioned requirements must be hold at the expiry date of the notice

For Standard Classes applicants must not have already attended iOS Developer Academy in
Naples in the academy year 2016/2017.
SECTION 3
(Application for participation to the selection)
The applicants can apply for Standard Classes or for Master Class, or if they meet the
requirements, for both Standard Classes and Master Class.
The application form must be submitted within and no later than 31 May 2017 at 12.00 a.m. (GMT +
1), exclusively on-line through the website: www.developeracademy.unina.it. The on-line registration
is possible from the publication date of this announcement and closes mandatorily, and under
penalty of exclusion from the selection procedure, at 12.00 a.m. (GMT + 1) of the 31 May 2017.
The registration procedure is in detail depicted in the Annex A.2 that is integral part of this
announcement.
Failure to comply with the provisions depicted in the Annex A.2 will implicate the non-
admission to the selection and, in any case, the exclusion from the procedure.
Applicants with disabilities who require assistance to carry out the selection procedure should select
"yes" in the "differently abled" box and must send, by e-mail to developeracademy@unina.it as
condition for obtaining the requested assistance - within and no later than 12.00 am (GMT + 1) of 15
June 2017, as depicted in detail in the Annex A..
All the communications concerning the selection will be given notice of exclusively by means of on-
line publication in the Official Noticeboard of the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (available
at the University web site www.unina.it) and by publication on the web site
www.developeracademy.unina.it

SECTION 4
(Evaluation Committee)
The Evaluation Committee will be appointed after the final deadline for submission of the
participation applications. Its composition will be announced through a notice, published exclusively
in the Official Noticeboard of the University (available at www.unina.it) and on the website
www.developeracademy.unina.it

SECTION 5
(Selection procedure)
The admission exam, in English, will consist of two phases:

Assessment test
Interview
The selection procedure refers to the Annex A.3 that is integral part of this notice.
Those admitted to the interview will receive the communication of the admission as set forth in the
following section 7. After the test and motivational interview the admitted students to Standard
Classes will be divided between the two cohorts (morning vs afternoon) and two profiles
(geeks vs creatives) at the sole discretion of the evaluation committee.

SECTION 6
(Admission tests: date and place of the evaluation test execution modalities candidates
obligations)
The evaluation test will be held in Naples, on the ground floor of the University Complex of
Biotechnological Sciences (Via De Amicis, 95) from 3 July 2017.

The schedule might be subject to changes. The up-to-date schedule will be published on the
Academys web site.

The timetable of the tests will be announced exclusively by on-line publication in the Official
Noticeboard of the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (available on the web site
www.unina.it) and by means of publication on www.developeracademy.unina.it. This timetable will
be published no later than 7 days before the beginning of the exams.
For this years selection, the Academy is offering applicants to sit for on-line assessment also in one
of the following remote examination sites: London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris, as depicted in
detail, in the Annex A.4.
The session site will be assigned to the applicants in order to the preferred location selected in the
application form.
The schedule might be subject to changes. The up-to-date schedule will be published on the
Academys web site.
The seats of remote session are limited. Therefore access to remote sessions will be granted on a
First-Come-First-Served basis. Overflow applicants will be invited (via e-mail) to take their exams in
Naples.

Possible postponements of the dates listed in the calendar will be announced in the same way. The
on-line publication in the Official Noticeboard of the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico II has
the force of notification with all effects. No personal messages will be sent to interested parties.
Therefore, all information relating to the admission test, having the force of notification, will only be
made public in the above mentioned form.
The applicants, who regularly applied for the admission test, according to the previous section 3,
must arrive at the time and in the day indicated in the convocation notice at the university location
assigned to them, with a valid identification document (ID card, passport). It will not be granted
access to the test for applicants coming after the end of recognition operations. Applicants who, for
any reason, are absent at the test after the end of the aforesaid recognition operations, will be
deemed to have withdrawn. Before carrying out the test, an information leaflet with procedure
instructions will be given to all participants.
During the test, applicants are not allowed to communicate between each other. Applicants, on pain
of exclusion, cannot use or even hold mobile phones, smartphones, palmtops, electronic devices of
any type and any suitable means for information storage or data transmission and also writing paper,
handwritten or typed notes, books, publications, manuals, textbooks and reference materials, during
the test, on pain of annulment of the test. Instead, bags, backpacks, writing paper, notes, books or
publications or other material will be deposited and exposed on the ground next to the desk.
Applicants must remain in their seats until at least thirty (30) minutes before the expiration of the
provided sixty (60) examination minutes for Standard Classes and forty-five 45 minutes minutes
before the expiration of the provided ninty (90) examination minutes.The applicant infringing the
provisions of this section shall be excluded from the selection process.
SECTION 7
(Admission test: date and venue of the motivational interview - performing procedure)
The ranking lists (Standard Classes 500 and Master Class 70) of the applicants admitted to the
motivational interview will be known exclusively by on-line publication in the Official Noticeboard of
the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (available on www.unina.it) and by publication on the
website www.developeracademy.unina.it.
In the same way, it will be announced date and time when the interview will be held. The interview
will take place online (via video conference), in accordance with the procedures depicted in the
Annex A.3.

SECTION 8
(Publication of the list)
The merit ranking lists (Standard Classes and Master Class) will be drawn up only on the basis of
the scores obtained in the assessment tests and in the motivational interview.
In the event of a tie the younger shall prevail. The final ranking lists will be approved by the
Chancellor and published in the Official Noticeboard of the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico
II (available on www.unina.it) and on the web site www.developeracademy.unina.it.
The students admitted to both Standard Classes and Master Class will be able to choose the
education path to attend within 3 days to the publication of the final ranking lists. In the event that
the admitted student does not choose the Class to attend he/she will be excluded from the Academy.
The condition of successful applicant below the threshold does refer only to the current selection
procedure: this condition does not give any right concerning the access to the courses at the
Developer Academy for the subsequent years.
SECTION 9
(Scholarship)
Apple has made a number of scholarships equal to 5% of the students admitted to the Developer
Academy, in accordance with the final ranking.
All other students admitted will receive scholarships from Regione Campania, in accordance with
the Agreement signed between the University and Regione Campania the 22 November 2016, based
on the applicable European regulations (see European Social Fund regulations).

SECTION 10
(Access to documents, Information regarding personal data and responsible for the
procedure)
Applicants have access to documents concerning the competition procedure, in accordance with the
current legislation. This right will be exercised in the manner prescribed by the University Regulations
laying down the rules on administrative procedure and the right of access to documents, issued with
the Chancellor Decree n. 2386/98 and subsequent amendments and additions. According to section
13 of the law n. 196/2003, please note that the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico II is
responsible for processing personal data of applicants, in accordance with the provisions of the
Rules of implementation of personal data protection code used by the University, issued by D.R. n.
5073 of 30th December 2005 and subsequent amendments. The Technical Director of COINOR, dr.
Alessandro Butt (email address iosa@unina.it), is responsible for any fulfillment, pertaining to the
present procedure, that it is not the competence of the Board in charge for the selection procedure.

SECTION 11
(Publication of the procedural acts)
This notice of selection and all documents attached will be published exclusively by on-line
publication in the Official Noticeboard of the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (available at
the web site www.unina.it) and by publication on the website www.developeracademy.unina.it.
The online publication in the Official Noticeboard of the Universit degli Studi di Napoli Federico II
has the force of notification with all effects and no personal messages will be sent to interested
parties. Therefore, it is recommended a constant consultation of the web links above.

SECTION 12
(Final Provisions)
The University reserves the right to exclude at any time the applicants participating in the procedure
pursuant to this notice for failure to comply with its provisions or within the time specified or for default
of the applicants requirements The exclusions are made with the Chancellor Decree. Exclusions will
be notified exclusively by online publication in the Official Noticeboard of the Universit degli Studi
di Napoli Federico II (available at site www.unina.it) and by publication of the exclusion decree on
the website www.developeracademy.unina.it.
Please note that, the Annex A is integral part of this announcement. It is recommended,
therefore, a careful consultation of the document.
