Abstract:
Warts are skin growths that are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). In such a common dermatological condition, even
the present day conventional system of medicine has limited scope, other than applying corrosive chemicals or ultimate surgical
removal (producing emotional and awkward physical scars) and again there is always a chance of recurrence.Since the cause
lies within, it is futile to cure the disease externally. Here the case was treated successfully with homoeopathic medicine thuja in
higher potency was reported. Homeopathic treatment not only helps in getting rid of the existing Warts but it also helps in
removing the tendency for this condition to recur. Also the method of healing of the warts is without the use of any surgical aids
and hence it helps in preventing scarring and other such side-effects that can occur due to surgery.

Introduction:

To paraphrase Goethe: The skin is a very special tissue it constitutes the great interface between man and the
external world. For this reason, animals, plants and minerals, microbial organisms, climatic factors, occupational,
industrial materials, cosmetics, the myriads of other natural and man made substances and stimuli reach and
inevitably affect the human skin. It inevitably reacts to these incessant and infinitely varied external and internal
bombardments manifestly or sub clinically. These alternations are either allergic or immunologic by definition,
since they are specifically acquired and known clinically on re exposure to the same or immunologically related
agent. The pattern of response is governed by the intrinsic endowment or genetic mosaic of the individual.

Warts are skin growths that are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). There are more than 60 kinds of HPV,
some of which tend to cause warts on the skin. HPV stimulates quick growth of cells on the skin's outer layer.
Anyone can get warts. Some people are more prone to getting a wart virus (HPV) than others. These people are:

Children and teens.

People who bite their nails or pick at hangnails.
People with a weakened immune system (the bodys defense system).

What causes warts?

Viruses called human papillomavirus (HPV) cause warts. It is easier to catch a virus that causes warts when you
have a cut or scrape on your skin. This explains why so many children get warts. Warts also are more common on
parts of the body that people shave such as the beard area in men and the legs in women. You can spread warts from
one place on your body to another.Warts can spread from person to person. You can get warts from touching a wart
on someones body. Some people get a wart after touching something that another persons wart touched, such as a
towel. It often takes a few months for warts to grow large enough to see.

In such a common dermatological condition, even the present day conventional system of medicine has limited
scope, other than applying corrosive chemicals or ultimate surgical removal (producing emotional and awkward
physical scars) and again there is always a chance of recurrence.Since the cause lies within, it is futile to cure the
disease externally.

Dr.Samuel Hahnemann, states that no external malady arise, persist or even grow worse without some
internal cause, without the co-operation of the whole organism, which must consequently be is a diseased state
(Aph-189).
. Skin being biologically within the organism, being fed from within the organism, having its life from within,
having its health from within and having its disease from within, it must also be treated medicinally from within.

Case Report-

A 26 year old Female patient presented with multiple warts on right forearm and hand for the last 03 years(@Sanjay
Gandhi memorial Hospital, homoeopathic unit, which was referred from Skin opd) and was treated successfully with
in 2months under homoeopathic medication. As the case presented onesided, the medicine is prescribed on the
sycotic miasmatic background The patient was treated internally with Thuja -1M/1 dose initially following with
placebo and 1M/1 dose was given in a month interval with marked improvement and complete disappearance of
lesions which is evident from the photographs(1&2) presented below.

Homeopathic treatment not only helps in getting rid of the existing Warts but it also helps in removing the tendency
for this condition to recur. This treatment uses the patients own immune system to fight the warts. Also the method
of healing of the warts is without the use of any surgical aids and hence it helps in preventing scarring and other
such side-effects that can occur due to surgery.
