Slab Gate Valve

The flat-plate gate valve is a slide valve with its

closure member as a parallel wedge disc and the
apparatus on the mouth of the petroleum and natural
gas extracting well is just the said valve, with its closure

Gate Valve member to be either a single wedge disc or a double

one with an unfurling mechanism therein. The pressing
force of the wedge disc towards the seat ring is
controlled by the medium pressure acting on the
floating wedge disc or seat ring. The said valve
features a small flow resistance, similar to that of a
short straight pipe and without necking. The flat-plate
gate valve with diversion holes is mounted on a
pipeline and can do pipe cleaning directly with a pipe
cleaner. As the wedge disc slides on the surfaces of
the two seat rings, so the flat-plate is also applicable
for the medium with suspended grains. The sealing
face of the said valve is positioned automatically in
fact and will not get damaged along with the hot
deformation of the body and overloaded along with
the hot extension of the stem when the valve is
closed in cold state. The flat-plate gate valve without
diversion holes will not ask the closed position of the
wedge disc for a higher precision when the valve is
closed.

The ball of a ball valve is floating and, with the action

Ball Valve of the medium pressure, can produce a certain

displacement and is closely pressed against the sealing
face at the outlet to make it surely sealed.

The floating ball valve is simple in structure and good

in tightness, but it needs to be considered whether the
material of the outlet seal ring is bearable to the load of
the ball borne working medium, as it is all transmitted
to the seal ring, and, in case of a higher pressure shock,
the ball may get deviated. This kind of structure is usually
used for the middle and low pressure valves.

The main characteristics of the ball valve come at a

compact structure of itself, a reliable seal, a simple
structure, easy repair and, as both sealing face and ball
face are often in the closed state, is uneasy to be made
eroded, easy to be operated and repaired, suitable for
water solvent, acid, natural gas etc. general working
media, and those as well working with severe conditions,
as oxygen, peroxide, methane, ethylene etc., broadly
used in every industry.

The fixed ball valve is a new generation high performance

ball valve, suitable for a long transportation and general
industrial pipelines, and a special consideration has
been made in the design of it for the strength, safety
and the severe situation resistance, suitable for various
corrosive and non-corrosive media. Compared to the

Ball Valve floating one, the acting force the before-valve fluid
pressure produces on the ball at work is completely
transmitted onto the bearing, so will not make the ball
moving towards the seat ring and the seat ring will not
bear an excessive pressure, resulting in a small torque,
a small deformation with the seat ring, a stable tightness
and a long duration with it, suitable for the high pressure
and a large aperture applications. The advanced spring
and seat ring assembly is of a self-tightening property
and carries out an upstream sealing. Two seat rings are
available with each valve and sealing can be made in
every direction, getting the installation without flowing
direction limit and in both ways.

There are two-blocks and three-blocks two structures

of the fixed ball valve body, the middle flange is
connected with bolts and the seal is made of reinforced
PTFE and inlaid in a stainless steel ring. A spring is set
behind the SS ring to have the seat ring closely against
the ball to keep sealing, a PTFE bearing is set with both
up and lower stems to reduce friction and make the
operation labor saved and a regulation piece is set on
the bottom of the small axis to make sure of the
contacted position between the ball and the seal ring.
The fixed ball valve can be used to cut off medium or
let it through in the transportation pipeline in food,
pharmacy, petroleum, chemical industry, natural gas,
steel-iron, environmental protection, paper-making etc.

The open-close member of the gate valve is the

Gate Valve wedge disc, the moving direction of which is perpe-

ndicular to that of the fluid. The gate valve can be
fully opened or closed and can not work as regulation
and throttle. The wedge disc holds two sealing faces
and the most common mode is the two sealing faces
form a wedge type, with the wedge angle varying from
the parameters, usually as 50 and as 252' when the
medium temperature is not high. When a hard-seal
gate valve is closed, the sealing face can be sealed
only with the medium pressure, that means pressing
the sealing face of the wedge disc by means of the
medium pressure onto the seat ring on the other
side to ensure the sealing of it, just as the self-sealing.
While most of the gate valves are sealed in a forced
way, i.e. when the valve is closed, the wedge disc is
externally forced to be pressed onto the seat ring so
as to ensure the tightness of the sealing face. This
valve uses the compensating action from the micro-
elastic deformation produced with the elastic wedge
disc to get a good sealing effect and features light
open-close, reliable sealing, good elastic memory
and a long duration etc. notable advantages and can
be used as a regulation and cut-off device for the
pipeline in rap water, sewage, construction, petroleum,
chemical, food, medicine, light-textile industry, electric
power, ship, metallurgy, energy system etc. trades.

along with the fluid central line. It is the broadest used
valve and the reason for it to be favored comes at its
small frictional force between the sealing faces during
open and close, being more durable, not high opening,
easy manufacture and repair, and being suitable for
not only middle and low pressures but also high one.
In the recent years since the sealed valve comes into
being, the medium in a globe valve is changed to flow
into the valve cavity from the upper of the disc and,
under the medium pressure at this time, the force to
close the valve becomes small while the one to open
it becomes large, getting the stem diameter relatively
reduced. Meanwhile, under the medium action, this
