Position Contribution

Position Purpose
To ensure the profitable, efficient and effective delivery of Steel Pencil client delivery projects in
accordance with customer expectations and Steel Pencil strategic goals though adoption of:
Sound project management practices
Attraction, development and retention of necessary capability
Key Accountabilities Primary Tasks

Staff Leadership and Work collaboratively to encourage a highly energised, enabled and
Development engaged team
Ensure staff are focused on delivering customer value in accordance
with Steel Pencil mission and vision
Stretch staff capabilities with effective and relevant professional
development programs
Complete quarterly performance reviews and annual staff performance
and development plans
Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures
Project Management Ensure industry good practice project management processes are
adhered to in accordance with Steel Pencil policies and procedures
Ensure all Projects are planned using sound project management
techniques, with the involvement of key stakeholders and team
members
Resource scheduling is reviewed at least weekly, spans at least one
month and is communicated clearly to internal project stakeholders
Project delivery is balanced using a portfolio management approach in
collaboration with the Business Development Manager
Quality assurance processes limit Steel Pencil liability without hindering
timely project delivery
Individual project risks are reviewed and updated weekly
Financial Track, monitor, forecast and report the Steel Pencil project delivery
Management pipeline
Manage resources and overtime to optimise project delivery, use of
software licenses and profitability
Reporting Ensure clarity of team performance and expectations with physical
charts and graphs
Report weekly to the management and leadership team: team
performance
Formally report monthly to the Managing Director: team performance
against strategic business plan targets
Change Management In conjunction with the management and leadership team, assist with
development, implementation and monitoring of the organisation
change program
Ensure adherence to system change management protocols to
minimise, if not eliminate negative customer impact
Brand and Company Ensure brand values are evidenced in the team dynamic and customer
Culture engagement

Qualifications, Technical Skills, Knowledge and Ability

Qualifications:
Post graduate qualification in business administration and/or Project Management, graduate
qualification in engineering, architecture or design; or equivalent industry
training/experience.

Experience:
10+ years experience across the following:
Project Management
Leading and managing people
Construction/Design modelling consulting
Technical Skills:
Project Management
Financial planning
