Some ideas to spice things up

Listen&Touch
Give students a set of images. You pronounce the sound and your students have to put their finger
on the correct image.
*Variation 1: have words that start with these sounds. Students listen and touch the correct image.
*Variation 2: Listen,Run&Touch. Same instructions as the game, but they do not have an
individual set of images, but a class set that is put around the room. Works really well for kids,
but can spice things up in an adult course as well.

Scrabble Sounds
Give students 2 sets of images. In pairs or small groups (max 4 people) ask them to add some
consonants and create words. They can use the whiteboard to display their ideas (with smaller
classes) or an empty desk.
*Variation 1: give students a limited number of consonants per pair/group
*Variation 2: after the words have been created, switch pairs/groups and ask them to work out
the stress pattern of the words created by another group.
